This Saturday, Lake Merritt Midwinter's Race Series #1, Oakland. This is the series that Vickie Gilmore is PRO for. Lake Merritt is a friendly
lake for Junior and Senior El Toro sailors. Be ready for a 10 am skippers meeting.
December 10th. The weather gods are not planning any potential rain until late Sunday evening or Monday morning,,,so sail Saturday!!!

One more date needs to be remembered for 2011,,,For ALL the El Toro Sailors who are members of Richmond Yacht Club, who can vote,,,,need
to be an attendance for the RYC Board of Directors Voting on December 14th, Wednesday evening!!! Vickie Gilmore is running for the Board of
Directors!!! She is more than Qualified. You must be present to vote!
We need to turn-out the El Toro vote for Vickie the same way we did for Chris Straub when he ran for the board and was voted in!!!. We need to
support Vickie!!! We could have TWO El Toro Sailors on the RYC Board of Directors!!!

RYC Report
Richmond Yacht Club ran an excellent regatta yesterday, Sunday. The race committee was the RYC Club Commodore, his wife, his 30
powerboat and Jocelyn Nash. The winds helped the committee with steady light south-easterly's in the morning and southwesterly afternoon winds in the 3 to 9 range .
Look at the numbers!!! 19 Seniors and 29 Juniors!!!
Vaughn Seifers and Chris Nash have been teaching the juniors of RYC to sail and preparing them for real-time racing in an El Toro. Also, the
Santa Cruz Junior Program is showing how well their Juniors have learned their racing skills. Santa Cruz has 5 of the top 9 sailors in the overall
standings with a 2-4-5-6 and 9th. Both Richmond and the Santa Cruz Yacht Clubs deserve praise for their efforts.
In the Seniors, John Pacholski almost took all the days first place finishes. The top 6 boats kept changing positions. In most of the races the lead
was shared, at some time, with any of the 6 boats. But Art, Chris, Michael and Buzz where always keeping John covered at just the right moment
when he was about to make his big break for the first place position to the finish line. He did, however, win two of the races.
The Seniors where to busy to watch the Juniors, except for Chris Nash. Chris helped any an all Juniors get around the course.
There are three more days of racing. It was great to see so many Senior sailors and Juniors mixing-it-up on the race course! Almost 50 El
Toro's!!!
