Esta es la historia de un pueblo ante la intemperie de un paisaje en transformación. Al
borde del panorama que la envuelve, donde se reproducen ahora los antiguos temores
de sus habitantes, la aldea arraigada en el lugar más remoto sobrevivió al tiempo
mientras los niños crecían para vivir y los mayores morían para quedarse.
This is the story of a village facing a landscape transformation. At the brink of the
eminent panorama surrounding it, witnessing the horror feared by generations of its
inhabitants, the village rooted in the outmost region survived the test of time while the
children grew to live and the elderly died to stay.

2012 No hay lugar lejano
El 5 de febrero de 1970 Carlos Castañeda de la Fuente intenta asesinar al presidente
Gustavo Díaz Ordaz y es condenado a 23 años de olvido al ser internado en un hospital
psiquiátrico. Hoy, el fallido magnicida, es un indigente que camina por las calles de la
Ciudad de México. Este documental es la búsqueda de Castañeda en su deambular, al
tiempo que indaga en su pasado, para contar esta historia viva e inconclusa.
On February 5th, 1970 Carlos Castañeda de la Fuente tried, unsuccessfully, to kill
Mexican President Gustavo Díaz Ordaz. He was sentenced to 23 years of oblivion and
was forgotten in a Psiquiatric Hospital. Nowadays, the failed murderer is a homeless
who walks Mexico City streets. This documentary film is the search of Castañeda in his
wandering, as he remembers his past, telling this unfinished yet alive story.
Graduado de Ciencias de la comunicación de la UNAM y de Dirección de
cine del CUEC. En 1999, su cortometraje Las moscas fue premiado como
Mejor Corto Mexicano en el V Festival Internacional de Escuelas de Cine y
nominado al Ariel. En el 2005 participó en Talent Campus Berlinale con el
cortometraje La regla 18.
(Chihuahua, 1981). Se licenció en Ciencias de la Comunicación, especialidad
en Producción audiovisual por el ITESM. Es diplomada en dirección y guion
de cine documental y en dirección de fotografía de cine digital por el
Instituto del Cine de Madrid.
Michelle Ibaven
(Chihuahua, 1981). She graduated in Communication Sciences, specializing
in audiovisual production from the ITESM. She has a degree in directing and
screenwriting for documentary film and in directing film photography for
digital cinema by the Film Institute in Madrid.

Alejandro Solar
Holds a degree in Comunication from UNAM and in Film Direction from
CUEC. In 1999, his shortfilm Las moscas was awarded the Best Mexican
Short Film in the V Film School’s International Festival and was nominated for
an Ariel. In 2005 he participated in Berlinale’s Talent Campus with his short
film La regla 18.
