ORDENANZA CONVOCANDO UNA ELECCIÓN ESPECIAL PARA EL 7 DE
MAYO DE 2016 CON EL FIN DE COMPLETAR EL TÉRMINO
RESTANTE (MAYO DE 2015 - MAYO DE 2017) DEL CONCEJAL DEL
DISTRITO A; Y OTROS ASUNTOS RELATIVOS A DICHA ELECCIÓN.
EN VISTA DE QUE se ha producido una vacante en el término
restante del cargo de Concejal del Distrito A a consecuencia del
fallecimiento de William M. “Bill” Lawton, lo que generó una
vacante en el cargo, y
EN VISTA DE QUE existe una necesidad para llenar la vacante
por el término restante y la Carta Orgánica de la Ciudad de Katy
y el Código Electoral de Texas disponen que tales vacantes sean
llenadas mediante la celebración de una elección especial, AHORA
POR LO TANTO,
EL CONSEJO MUNICIPAL DE LA CIUDAD DE KATY, TEXAS, DECRETA:
I.
Los
asuntos
y
hechos
aclamados
en
el
preámbulo
de
esta
Ordenanza se determinan correctos y se incorporan a la misma;
todas las acciones y condiciones que se deben realizar antes de
la convocación de la elección regular mencionada posteriormente
se han llevado a cabo de manera adecuada.
II.
Fue
convocada
una
elección
regular
de
funcionarios
municipales en la Ciudad de Katy, Texas, para el 7 de mayo de
2016.
III.
Se llevará a cabo una elección especial en la Ciudad de
Katy, Texas, el 7 de mayo de 2016, con y al mismo tiempo que la
elección regular de funcionarios municipales, elección especial
Convocación de Elección Especial para Llenar un Término Restante

en la cual los votantes calificados de la Ciudad de Katy, Texas,
elegirán un Concejal del Distrito A para completar el término
restante del Concejal William M. “Bill” Lawton, quien falleció.
Tal Concejal el Distrito A que sea elegido ocupará el cargo por
el término restante del Concejal del Distrito A, el cual termina
en 2017.
IV.
La Secretario de la Ciudad ha instruido que se agregue en
la boleta de la votación regular y de la votación anticipada de
la elección regular de funcionarios municipales programada para
el 7 de mayo de 2016 el siguiente lenguaje:

La Secretaria de la Ciudad está autorizada para publicar un
aviso de la elección especial e imprimir las boletas de votación
en idioma español, según lo requerido por la Ley de Derechos de
