Preschool and Kindergarten Registration
Registration for the 2010-2011 Preschool and Kindergarten Programs of the Meriden Public Schools will take place
in the elementary schools during the week of February 8-11, 2010. Resident children who will be four (4) years of
age or older on or before January 1, 2011, are eligible for the A.P.P.L.E Preschool Program. Please register your
child at your district school. Children accepted into this program will be assigned to John Barry, Benjamin
Franklin, Hanover or Roger Sherman Elementary School. Resident children who will be five (5) years of age or
older on or before January 1, 2011 are eligible for kindergarten. Students who are currently within the APPLE
Preschool Program must register again for Kindergarten.
Hours for preschool and kindergarten registration will be from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. and from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. The
child’s birth certificate, proof of residence (rental/mortgage agreement, utility bill) and immunization record must be
presented at the time of registration. At the preschool registration, a follow-up DIAL screening appointment will be
made.

Matrículas para el programa Preescolar y Jardín de Infantes
Las matrículas para los programas preescolar y jardín de infantes de las escuelas públicas de Meriden para el año
2010-2011 tomarán lugar en las escuelas primarias durante las semanas de Febrero 8-11 del 2009. Los niños
residentes que cumplan cuatro (4) años de edad para o antes del primero de enero del 2011, son elegibles para el
programa preescolar. Por favor de matricular a su hijo(a) en la escuela de su distrito. Los niños aceptados a
nuestro programa serán asignados a las escuelas de John Barry, Benjamin Franklin, Hanover y Roger
Sherman. Los niños residentes que cumplan cinco (5) años de edad para o antes del primero de enero del 2011,
son elegibles para jardín de infantes. Si su hijo(a) esta asistiendo el programa preescolar de APPLE es todavía
necesario que sean matriculados para Jardín de Infantes.
Las horas para las matrículas serán de 9:30 a 11:30 a.m. y de 1:00 a 2:30 p.m. El certificado de nacimiento,
verificación de residencia (contrato de inquilino/hipoteca, factura de servicio publico) y el certificado de
vacunas del niño/a serán solicitados. Al momento de la matrícula preescolar se le hará una cita para una prueba
de elegibilidad.
