Candidate for Pacific Elementary School District
Governing Board Member
Occupation: Sign Language Interpreter
Age: 53
During my 7 years at Pacific, our family connections with staff, students and fellow
parents have grown deeper and stronger. Pacific’s close-knit community of
stakeholders makes it an extraordinary school. Serving 3 years on Site Council
and 4 years as a Board Trustee, privides me with a strong background in how the
school works.
I see tremendous value in the variety of programs/services at our school and want
to support and strengthen these educational options moving forward. In particular, I
see students thriving when they have experiential hands-on learning supported by
a rich curriculum, aides in the classroom, and a strong teacher-parent partnership.
My own background is in the field of education (as an aide, teacher and sign
language interpreter). I look forward to bringing that formal training and my years of
service at Pacific to the table as a Trustee. We need to continue the programs and
services we all know and love. I will provide much needed continuity during this
time of change.

I am a local Realtor and parent of a 4th grader at Pacific School and a homeowner
in Newtown Davenport for 11 years. I am seeking election to the school board to
help build upon the legacy of great education at Pacific.
Education
Serving the Pacific School Foundation/Parent’s Club, we raised funds to keep our
wonderful Food-Lab, Life-Lab Garden, Teachers Aides, Music, Art and Theatre
programs. These programs are a unique and vibrant part of education at Pacific. I
am committed to help grow these programs.
I will bring this same kind of energy and enthusiasm to my work on the school
board. I believe high academic standards are important for our kids. I am
determined to keep the entire Pacific School Educational experience as high
quality as possible. Our students and our entire community will benefit for years to
come.
Soy un corredor de bienes raíces local y un padre de un alumno de 4° grado en la
Escuela Pacifico y un propietario de casa en Newtown Davenport por 11 años.
Busco ser elegido para la junta escolar para ayudar a construir sobre el legado de
la gran educación en Pacifico.

Sirviendo en la Fundación de la Escuela Pacifico/Club de Padres, recaudamos
fondos para mantener nuestros maravillosos programas de Laboratorio de
Comida, Jardín Laboratorio de Vida, Asistentes de Maestros, Música, Arte y
Teatro. Estos programas son una parte única y vibrante de la educación en
Pacifico. Estoy comprometido a ayudar a hacer crecer estos programas.
Tendré esta misma clase de energía y entusiasmo en mi trabajo en la junta
escolar. Creo que los altos estándares académicos son importantes para
nuestros niños. Estoy determinado a mantener toda la experiencia Educacional de
la Escuela Pacifico tan alta como sea posible. Nuestros estudiantes y nuestra
comunidad entera se beneficiarán por los años venideros.
