Project title: Active citizens for active climate protection – AC4ACP
The project “Active citizens for active climate protection” aims to raise the
awareness among the citizens regarding the importance of getting active
themselves to protect the climate. Moreover, it aims to show, that the already
active citizens are not alone with their effort and commitment – that other
citizens in other countries of the EU work actively for the same aim. There are
different ideas and approaches in the diverse countries, which have the power to
inspire and motivate alike for continuing and improving existing activities and
developing new approaches. The cross-national exchange in this field, which is
possible in the course of this project, enhances the European community spirit
and strengthens the citizens’ identification with the EU and at the same time
contributes to reach the EU climate and energy (20-20-20) targets. In this project,
partners from five EU countries (Austria, Czech Republic, Malta, Portugal, and
Spain) will work jointly to contribute both to the 20-20-20 targets and the targets
of the “Europe for citizens”-programme.
The core element of the project is the organisation of five 2-day-events (one in
each participating country) including excursions to national good practices and a
big public event, where citizens will be involved in different intensities
(international participants, national participants and indirectly involved citizens).
A special focus will be on the suitable, attractive design of the public events, so
that it is appealing to young and older citizens alike. The events should offer
adequate facilities to present the partner countries’ good practices and the EU’s
targets and efforts in the climate sector as well as facilities to discuss exchange
and jointly develop ideas.

Título del proyecto: Active citizens for active climate protection – AC4ACP
El Proyecto “Ciudadanos activos para una protección del clima activa” pretende
sensibilizar a los ciudadanos sobre la importancia de que la protección del clima sea
activa. Por otra parte, aspira a demostrar, que los ciudadanos activos ya no están
solos con su esfuerzo y compromiso, que otros ciudadanos de otros países de la UE
trabajan activamente para el mismo fin. Hay diferentes ideas y enfoques en los
diversos países, que tienen el poder para inspirar y motivar. Así como para continuar
y mejorar las actividades existentes y desarrollar nuevos enfoques. El intercambio
internacional en este campo, que es posible gracias a este proyecto, realza el espíritu
de la Comunidad Europea y refuerza la identificación de los ciudadanos con la UE y al
mismo tiempo contribuye a llegar a los objetivos EU sobre clima y energía (Objetivo
20-20-20). En este proyecto, socios de cinco países de la UE (Austria, República
Checa, Malta, Portugal y España) trabajarán conjuntamente para contribuir al
Objetivo 20-20-20 y los objetivos del programa “La Europa de los ciudadanos”
El elemento central del proyecto es la organización de cinco eventos de 2 días (uno
en cada país participante) incluyendo excursiones a buenas prácticas nacionales y un
gran evento público, donde los ciudadanos participarán en diferentes intensidades
(participantes internacionales, participantes nacionales y los ciudadanos
indirectamente involucrados).
Los eventos públicos se centrarán en el diseño atractivo para los ciudadanos jóvenes
y mayores por igual. Los eventos ofrecerán instalaciones adecuadas para que los
socios puedan presentar sus buenas prácticas y los objetivos de la Unión Europea y
sus esfuerzos en la protección del clima, a la vez que se facilita el intercambio y
desarrollo conjunto de ideas.
