Fourteen years have passed since we entered the school, approximately seven millions of seconds but, what is time really?, only a measurement?, certainly not, time is the way we see things go on, time is a mixture of feelings, emotions, actions, movements, facts and things that happen in our life. And that’s what matters here today, not the chronological time that we have been in school, but all the methafisic emotions that we, as generation 2011, and also as individuals, had during our school years: those classes, not with teachers, but with the real masters in maths, spanish or biology; the breaks were we gathered in the school kiosk; all the days that we laughed at lunch time telling stories about the weekend; the times that we cried or felt angry after a rugby match that we should have won; the europe tour party and the 2011 getaway, or as we call it “la fuga”. I could go on and on, but my point is to remind you about the infinity of situations that we lived in school, those moments that are unique to every member of this generation. Teachers were a great support for all of us in these years, I know all of you put all the possible effort in helping us to improve ourselves in whatever we needed and, of course, we are very grateful about that, but it’s not only your effort what we thank, is also the good and happy feelings you always showed to us that helped to make a great atmosphere here at the school, I’m sure that that’s what makes our school so great. On the other hand, out of school, we have our parents and our families, those that supported us on everything we needed, the ones that were there for everything we wanted, but most importantly, the ones that I believe made us as who we are. It’s impossible to thank all the people that accompanied us in this journey through school, but we know we will have eternal memories with every single individual that influenced us in any way. One important message that our generation needs to send before departing from the school is directed to all the younger students: the future of the school is in your hands, you are the ones in charge of making it better every day, and this role is not only the 2012’s head boy or the students council’s job, all of you must take part, give ideas, always try to do new things. Don’t be afraid of making better traditions, school traditions are great and are one of the things that identify the mackayan comunity, but these tipical mackayan celebrations can’t be the same forever, you must make them yours, just like we owened the fourth medios day by making some changes that turned out really great. Another important thing, let the good vibes reign over the school, try being friendly with your classmates and other school members, I assure you this will make your path in school much greater. You have a really important mission, don’t let the school essence go away, our beloved school is what it is because of the quality of their students, teachers and staff, but most importantly, never forget that our school stands on the unity between, teachers, old mackayans, students, authorities, auxiliaries, parents, etc. Gracias.
