The monthly variation of the Industrial Production Index stands at
‒1.4%, after adjusting the seasonal and calendar effects
The annual rate of the Industrial Production Index stands at 2.7% in
the series adjusted for the seasonal and calendar effects and at
5.0% in the original series
Monthly evolution of the Industrial Production
After adjusting the seasonal and calendar effects, the monthly variation of the Industrial
Production Index (IPI) between August and July 2015 stood at ‒1.4%. This rate was 2.1
points lower than that registered in July.

By industrial sectors, Non-durable consumer goods (0.7%) and Intermediate goods (0.3%)
registered the greatest positive monthly variation rates.
In turn, Energy (–5.6%) and Capital goods (‒2.7%) registered a negative monthly rate.

Annual evolution of the Industrial Production
After adjusting the seasonal and calendar effects, the Industrial Production Index registered
a variation of 2.7% in August, as compared with the same month of the previous year. This
rate was 2.5 points lower than that registered in July.
The original series of the IPI recorded an annual variation of 5.0%. This rate was 1 point
lower than that of July.

Capital goods (8.6%), Durable consumer goods (3.7%) and Intermediate goods (2.5%)
registered the greatest annual rates.

Results by Autonomous Community. Annual variation rates of the Industrial
Production. Original series
The annual rate of the Industrial Production increased in fourteen Autonomous Communities.
The greatest increases were registered in La Rioja (16.2%), Illes Balears (10.3%) and
Comunitat Valenciana (9.7%).
In turn, the greatest decreases were registered in Castilla y León (‒2.8%), Aragón (‒2.2%),
and Comunidad de Madrid (‒0.9%).
