TRIO
El guitarrista Pau Figueres concentra en un solo
instrumento las tradiciones guitarrísticas de las cuales
proviene; la música clásica y contemporánea, el
flamenco y otras sonoridades de hoy en día se mezclan
en un sonido y un toque que se sale de los cajones de
género habituales. Profundamente influenciado y nutrido
de figuras como Zoran Dukic, Toti Soler, Paco de Lucía o
Pat Metheny, en su música conviven elementos
heterogéneos que se amoldan de forma intuitiva, fruto de
su amplia experiencia musical y de una vida teñida por la
guitarra.

Guitarist Pau Figueres concentrates in a single instrument the
various guitarristique traditions from which he comes from; the
Classical and contemporary music, Flamenco, and other
sounds of nowadays are mixed in a unique sound and a way of
playing that is out of the usual genre categorization. Deeply
influenced and nurtured by figures such as Zoran Dukic, Toti
Soler, Paco de Lucía or Pat Metheny, in his music we find
heterogeneous elements to work together in an intuitive way, as
a result of his extensive musical experience and a life tinged by
the relationship with the guitar.
En concierto
En los conciertos de Pau se vive una profunda conexión con la
música y con los intérpretes, Pau y los músicos de su trío –Arnau
Figueres a la percusión y Jordi Gaspar al bajo acústico–, quienes
buscan ir juntos allí donde la música florece y sale de manera
natural. Cuidando el buen sonido y siempre capitaneados por el
ritmo se adentran en ellos mismos para poder transmitirnos su arte
del modo más fiel posible.
Se tocan piezas a guitarra sola, a duo con la percusión, a trio
con el bajo acústico… formas del flamenco, reminiscencias de
la música clásica, aires suramericanos y patrones de la música
moderna se van sucediendo durante el concierto, un espacio y
tiempo especiales donde se desea alegrar e inspirar al público.
Live in concert
In Pau’s live concerts one can experience a profound connection
with the music and the players, Pau and the musicians in his trio
–percussionist Arnau Figueres and bassist Jordi Gaspar–, who
aim to go together where the music blossoms and flows naturally.
Caring for a good sound and always on track with rhythm, they
dive into their artistic selfs to then deliver us their music in the
most faithful and honest way.
We’ll hear pieces on solo guitar, guitar and percussion duo, the whole
trio adding the acoustic bass… Flamenco forms, reminiscences from
Classical music, South American touches, and patterns from modern
music will make their way through the concert, a special kind of
spacetime where the audience hopefully will feel happy and inspired.
Pau’s biography
Born in 1989. Pau is a guitarist who tackles music from multiple interpretative angles using
different concepts, understanding and studying the guitar as a versatile cross-over instrument.
Immersed in varied musical genres and styles, he’s always trying to produce high quality guitar
sounds and creative ideas in every different musical situation he finds himself. From classical
music to modern jazz and pop, he feels great respect and admiration for each one of these
genres. His original compositions mirror his different approaches to the guitar and to music.
He has performed as a classical guitar soloist, as a soloist with an orchestra,
in chamber music ensembles, in rock bands, backing singers (mostly solo), in
jazz, world music and pop bands, and many other. He has played with a large
number of the most acclaimed musicians in Barcelona and the Peninsula:
Carles Dénia, Alfonso Vilallonga, Lídia Pujol, Sílvia Pérez Cruz, Eliseo
Parra, Marina Rossell, Maria de Medeiros…) and has performed and
recorded in different countries (UK, Spain, Germany, France, USA, Finland,
Portugal, Estonia, Italy, Greece, Austria, Switzerland, Luxemburg…).
His technique is a mixture of the Classical and the
Flamenco techniques, also embracing the American
fingerpicking style, playing with a pick and playing
slide guitar. He has a deep knowledge of the guitar
as an instrument and of the art of making it sound.
Pau is currently working on his first
solo album, which will be out during
2015. It features Pau’s original
compositions and collaborations from
the amazing musicians Aleix Tobias,
Carles Benavent, Arnau Figueres,
Jordi Gaspar, Judit Neddermann
and Mel Semé.
