This study consists of the development of a strategic plan (2016-2020) for APBOSMAM, an
agricultural cooperative producing organic banana in Sullana, Peru. This plan answers to the
real need of the cooperative in terms of improving its vision and strategy in the medium and
long term. To develop the plan, I have made an internal and external strategic analysis of the
situation that faces the company. I have collected and studied secondary data of the industry,

scarce in this country, although most of the information has been directly obtained from the
stakeholders of the company, mainly by means of direct interviews and personal meetings. As a
result of all the analysis performed, several interesting strategies arise; strategies that try to link
the internal strengths and weaknesses with the challenges of the environment.
To do so, I have always worked hand by hand with the CEO of the company, to detect the
strategic areas of interest, and also, though in the distance, with the technical orientation given
by my academic director.
