During the last years the number of people practising any kind of sport has increased
considerably. It has been proven by the last INE statistics published on July 2014. It has also
been proven that people have increased the intake of food supplements to prevent, improve,
recover and maintain their muscles and joints.
Based in these trends, this research is carried out in order to study the habits of people in
Navarra from 18 to 74 years old in relation to the sport practice and the intake of food

supplements.
These results will be partially used in the launching of ovomet® (Pure Eggshell Membrane) a
product by Eggnovo S.L. an innovative and R&D based company in Villatuerta (Navarra).
After researching, it has been known that 41% of the people that practise sports suffer from
joint problems derivated from the sport practice, and most of them suffer knees problems.
In addition 26% of athletes consume food supplements, mostly to restore, maintain and
protect the joints.
