CONVENIO ESPECíFICO EN MATERIA DE INTERCAMBIO DE ESTUDIANTES QUE
CELEBRAN LA UNIVERSIDAD DE GUADALAJARA, MÉXICO, EN LO SUCESIVO
DENOMINADA LA "UDEG", REPRESENTADA POR SU RECTOR GENERAL SUSTITUTO,
DR. MARCO ANTONIO CORTÉS GUARDADO Y EL SECRETARIO GENERAL, LIC. JOSÉ
ALFREDO PEÑA RAMOS Y, POR LA OTRA PARTE, OXFORD BROOKES UNIVERSITY,
REINO UNIDO, DENOMINADA EN LO SUCESIVO LA "OBU" REPRESENTADA POR SU
SECRETARIO GENERAL, PAUL LARGE, AL TENOR DE LOS ANTECEDENTES Y
cLÁUSULAS SIGUIENTES:

Que ambas partes celebraron un Convenio General de Colaboración, señalando que
las declaraciones que aparecen en el mismo, se tienen aquí por reproducidas para
todos los efectos legales a que haya lugar.

Que la personalidad jurídica de los representantes legales de la "UDEG" y la "OBU"
quedaron debidamente acreditadas en el Convenio General de referencia, mismas
que se ratifican en este instrumento.
111.
Que en el citado Convenio General se acordó colaborar en tareas de mutuo interés,
las cuales de ser aprobadas por ambas instituciones, se formalizarían mediante
acuerdos específicos que se suscribirían en el marco de dicho documento.
Una vez expresado lo anterior, las partes tienen a bien celebrar el presente instrumento en
los términos y condiciones que se establecen en las siguientes:
PRIMERA. El presente convenio tiene por objeto establecer las bases para llevar a
cabo el intercambio de estudiantes de licenciatura de la Universidad de Guadalajara, México
y de la Oxford Brookes University, Reino Unido.
SEGUNDA. No están incluidos en el presente Convenio, los programas académicos
de extensión de la Universidad de Guadalajara ofrecidos por sus empresas universitarias:
Centro de Estudios para Extranjeros y el Sistema Corporativo Proulex-Comlex.

TERCERA. Cada una de las partes seleccionará y nominará a sus estudiantes para
participar en el programa de intercambio, de acuerdo a los procedimientos y requisitos
establecidos por la universidad receptora.
CUARTA. Los intercambios de estudiantes bajo este Convenio se ajustarán al
calendario escolar de cada universidad y podrán tener una duración de un semestre o un
año académico completo o, de menor duración cuando el programa académico así lo
requiera, previo acuerdo entre ambas universidades.
Los estudiantes seleccionados para el programa de intercambio podrán seleccionar y
tomar cursos en la universidad receptora, siempre y cuando correspondan al mismo nivel y/o
sean equiparables a los impartidos en su universidad de origen.
QUINTA. La universidad de origen, remitirá los expedientes de los estudiantes
seleccionados a la universidad receptora para fines de información y aceptación.
SEXTA. Los estudiantes que participen en el programa de intercambio pagarán en su
universidad de origen sus propios costos por concepto de inscripción y matrícula. La
universidad receptora, no cobrará cuotas por estos conceptos.
SÉPTIMA. El número de estudiantes de intercambio para cada año académico bajo
este convenio será de tres. Cualquier disparidad de números deberá hacerse al siguiente
año. Se discutirá el número de estudiantes antes del 1 de febrero para realizar un
intercambio en los siguientes dos semestres.
OCTAVA. Los estudiantes seleccionados para el intercambio tendrán los mismos
derechos y responsabilidades que la universidad receptora contemple para sus propios
estudiantes, debiendo apegarse a las leyes y reglamentos universitarios y podrán ser sujetos
a las sanciones que contemple en caso de incumplimiento de este apartado, en este caso,
deberá informarse a la universidad de origen. Los estudiantes de intercambio no serán
candidatos para la obtención de un título otorgado por la universidad anfitriona.

NOVENA. Ambas instituciones acuerdan que es responsabilidad de los estudiantes
de intercambio, realizar sus trámites migratorios para obtener la visa en su país de origen.
DÉCIMA. Los estudiantes de intercambio serán responsables por todos los gastos
adicionales del intercambio, incluyendo los gastos de trasporte, hospedaje, alimentación y
seguro médico.
DÉCIMA PRIMERA. Cada una de las instituciones de este acuerdo proveerá
asesoramiento académico y servicios de consejería a los estudiantes de intercambio durante
su estadía en las respectivas universidades.
DÉCIMA SEGUNDA. Al final del término del periodo de intercambio, la universidad
receptora enviará a la institución de origen un informe con las calificaciones obtenidas por
cada estudiante de intercambio. La revalidación de los cursos tomados quedará sujeto a la
normatividad de cada una de las universidades signantes del presente convenio. Si así se
solicita, la universidad receptora proveerá descripción de cursos y curriculum vitae de los
profesores con los que los estudiantes de intercambio hayan tomado clases, así como
información sobre el sistema de calificaciones de la institución.
DÉCIMA TERCERA. El presente convenio entrara en vigor a partir de su fecha de
firma, tendrá una vigencia de tres años. Podrá concluirse anticipadamente cuando así lo
determinen las partes por mutuo acuerdo, o cuando una de ellas comunique con seis
mese de anticipación y por escrito a la otra su deseo de darlo por concluido. En este caso,
los estudiantes que ya hayan sido aceptados por las partes no serán afectados y se les
permitirá concluir sus estudios respetando todas las cláusulas del presente convenio.
DÉCIMA CUARTA. Las partes manifiestan que la firma del presente convenio y los
compromisos contraídos en él, son producto de su buena fe, por lo que realizarán todas las
acciones necesarias para su debido cumplimiento; en caso de presentarse alguna
discrepancia sobre su interpretación, ésta será resuelta de común acuerdo.

DÉCIMA QUINTA. Las partes reconocen que la Oxford Brookes está sujeta a la Ley
de Libertad de Información, 2000, y podrá ser requerida revelar información considerada
privada anteriormente.
Leído el presente instrumento, enteradas las partes del contenido y alcance de cada una de
sus cláusulas e indicando que en su celebración no existe dolo, mala fe, o cualquier otro
motivo que vicie su consentimiento, lo firman por duplicado, en idioma inglés y español,
ambas versiones con igual contenido y validez.

SPECIFIC AGREEMENT FOR THE EXCHANGE OF STUDENTS, BROUGHT ABOUT
BY THE UNIVERSIDAD DE GUADALAJARA,
MÉXICO, HEREIN REFERRED TO AS
"UDEG", REPRESENTED IN THIS ACT BY ITS ACTING RECTOR GENERAL, DR.
MARCO ANTONIO CORTÉS GUARDADO AND THE SECRETARY GENERAL, LIC.
JOSÉ ALFREDO PEÑA RAMOS AND, OXFORD BROOKES UNIVERSITY, UK
HEREIN REFERRED TO AS THE "OBU" REPRESENTED IN THIS ACT BY THE
REGISTRAR, PAUL LARGE, AS PURSUANT OF THE FOLLOWING ANTEDEDENTS
AND CLAUSES:
1.
That both parties have celebrated a General Collaboration Agreement, stating that
the declarations established within it are considered herein reproduced for all the
necessary effects.

That the legal status of the representatives of the "UDEG" and the "OBU" has
been duly accredited in the General Collaboration Agreement, which is ratified in
this document.
111.
That in the referred to General Agreement the parties agreed to collaborate in
activities of mutual interest, which, if approved by both institutions, will be
formalized through specific agreements in the terms and conditions established
thereof.
FIRST. The objective of the present agreement is to establish the basis for an
exchange program for undergraduate students between the Universidad de Guadalajara,
México and the Oxford Brookes University, UK.
SECOND. The academic extension programs of the Universidad de Guadalajara
offered by its university enterprises, the Centro de Estudios para Extranjeros (CEPE) and
the Sistema Corporativo Proulex-Comlex are not included in this agreement.

THIRD. Each party will select and nominate students to participate in this
exchange program, in accordance with the procedures and requirements set forth by the
host university. Admitlance of exchange students remains within the discretion of the host
university.
FOURTH. The exchange of students under this program will take place in
accordance with the academic calendar of the host university, and may last for up to a full
academic year as required by each academic programo
Students selected for this exchange program will be allowed to select and take
courses at the host university, provided that the courses correspond to the same level
and/or are equivalent to those offered by their home university.
FIFTH. The home university will submit the required certified documents of the
students selected to the host university, for admitlance purposes, by the deadline set by
the host university.
SIXTH. Students participating in this exchange program will pay registration and
tuition fees to their home university. The host university will not charge them for these
items.
SEVENTH. 80th institutions agree to keep the number of exchange students
equitable, with a maximum of three participants per academic year. Any compensation
for an unequal number of students must be made within the next academic year. The
student numbers will be discussed before the 1sI of February for the following two
semesters.
EIGHTH. Students selected for the exchange will have the same academic and
administrative rights and responsibilities applied by the host university to its own
students. Exchange students must follow the regulations of the host university, and they
will be held accountable in case of non-compliance. Their home university will be
informed of any such non-compliance. Exchange students will not be eligible for a degree
awarded by the host university as part of the exchange.
NINTH. It is responsibility of the exchange students to obtain the proper visas in
their home country.
TENTH. The exchange students will be responsible for all additional expenses in
this exchange program, including, but not Iimited to, transportation, housing, meals and
health insurance.
ÉLEVENTH. The host university will provide academic advisory and counseling
services to exchange students during their stay.
TWELFTH. At the end of the academic term the host university will send the
home university an offi cial transcript of the grades obtained by each exchange student.
The conversion of academic records will be made according to the home institution's
regulations and criteria. If so requested. the host university will provide course
descriptions and résumés of the professors who taught the courses attended by the
exchange students, as well as information about the grading and evaluation system
used.
THIRTEENTH. This agreement will become valid upon signature and will be valid
for three years, and will cease when the parties agree, or within six months of the issue,
by either party, of a writlen request to terminate. Should there be any projects in active
exchange status, the agreement may not be terminated until their completion.
FOURTEENTH. The parties state that the signing of the current agreement and
the commitments contained therein, are made in good faith and, therefore they will
undertake all actions necessary for its proper execution; any discrepancy in the
interpretation of the agreement will be resolved by common accord.
FIFTEENTH. The parties acknowledge that Oxford Brookes University is
subject to the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and may be required to disclose
information formerly considered private.
Having read this document, both institutions being aware of the contents and extent of
each c1ause and affirming that there is no deceit, reticence, or any other reason that
might corrupt its approval, both institutions sign duplicate versions in English and
Spanish, both versions with the same content and validity.
