Anointing of the Sick: Please contact the parish office at any time and
make arrangements with one of our Priests. In cases of illness, please
notify us if you or a family member would like to receive Holy
Communion at home, hospital or nursing home to make arrangements.
Marriage: Please contact our parish office at least 6 months pr ior to
your scheduled wedding date and to schedule a meeting with one of our
priests. Religious Education: Sacramental preparation for First
Communion and Confirmation is offered for public school students in
grades 1 through 10. All children should be registered before attending

XXV Sunday in Ordinary Time
First Reading: Amos 8:4-7
The prophet Amos expressed disgust over people who take
advantage of the poor. He describes businessmen scheming to
cheat the poor, then declares that God will "never forget the
things they have done."
Second Reading: 1 Timothy 2:1-8
Paul urges the Christians to pray for all people, especially
those in authority. Paul even asked them to pray for the kings
who denounced Christ's teachings, because God wants all
people to be saved through Jesus.
Gospel: Luke 16:1-13
Jesus tells a story about a servant who tries to cheat his
employer. The owner is impressed because he would do the
same thing himself. Jesus then describes the importance of
being trustworthy in small matters, as well as in greater ones.
He then states that no one can serve two masters faithfully, so
people cannot give themselves completely to both God and
money.

September 24, 2016: Annual Mass for Saint Lor enzo Ruiz.
Mass at 12:00 noon with reception to follow in the gym.
September 25, 2016: Family Fun Fall Festival to take place
on the parish grounds. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for
children. (Children under 5 years of age are free.)
October 1, 2016: Santo Rosario Feast Day Mass at 11:00 am.
Right after the mass we will process to the gym/café for the
“Karakol”. Devotees will carry the icon while dancing the
“Karakol” with a beat of a special music.
October 8, 2016: Spanish Dinner Dance in the school
auditorium at 7:00 p.m. Price is $25 per person above the age
13. Children from 5-12 is $15. Children below 4 are free.
Pastor’s Corner:
I hope that everyone had a blessed and safe weekend. We
offered a beautiful Requiem Mass for those who died 15
years ago last Sunday. We still continue to pray for their
souls and their families who are still struggling with loss.
It important to keep 9/11anniversary every year just not on
the ones that end in 5 or 0. God we pray that they are
safely in your hands and with you mother in paradise.
This last Tuesday the Parish Council met for their
September meeting. They were introduced to our new
Parish Manager, Deacon John Sadowski. He will be a
great resource as we continue to build and support our
parish. I want to quote one of the presenters at the Parish
Council Meeting, “New Year, New You!” I would like to
change it slightly, “New Year, Same Church, United As
One.” Thank you Mr. Ernest Zalamea for this inspiration.
The Family Fun Fall Festival, as it is my hope, will bring
the parish even closer together. Deacon Sadowski put it
best that we are here to use the assets that we have, from
our youth, adults, clergy, staff, etc. as we put forth our
time talent and treasure.
This year plan to see me more, especially in the Religious
Education Classrooms. I hold this very dear my heart as
this is the foundation for your children to learn about our
faith. Coupled with their formation in the classroom it will
be you the parents who will serve as their role models as
good Catholics. As we expand our programs here we will
have a great youth component that will put into practice
what they learn into real world experiences. It is the youth
that will help unify us as one body of Christ, no matter
what language, color of skin, or socioeconomic
background we come from.
Please do read the up on the various events that we will be
having at the parish this year. At the end of November, we
as the Catholic Church, will be closing the Year of Mercy.
This has been a great refresh to the Church bringing in
many lost souls all around the world. (Just like the parable
we heard last Sunday.) I ask that we as a parish, continue
to uphold the sacrament of reconciliation. If you are unsure
of the times, see the bulletin. We are here every Saturday
and if your need may be greater spiritually, call the rectory
to make and appointment with one of the priests.

J’encourage à faire des prières pour tous les hommes
à Dieu qui veut que tous les hommes soient sauvés.
Evangile: Saint Luc: 16, 1‑13
Vous ne pouvez pas servir à la fois Dieu et l’argent
Riches de l’amour que
nous donnons
Pourquoi cette incompatibilité
entre le service de Dieu et
celui de l’argent ? C’est que
les deux logiques sont
inverses : avec l’argent, je ne
conserve que ce que je garde ;
avec Dieu, je ne conserve que
ce que je donne. Plus je donne mes biens, moins j’en ai.
Plus je donne de l’amour, plus je m’enrichis de cet
amour que je donne. Or le texte grec ne parle pas
d’argent, mais de « Mammon », qui est l’argent idolâtré
ou encore le démon de l’avarice. C’est donc que la
question n’est pas que technique : elle est aussi, et
d’abord, spirituelle. Non seulement les deux logiques
sont inverses, mais la logique de l’un peut modifier la
pratique de l’autre. À force de craindre de perdre ses
biens, le risque est grand de voir son amour se rétrécir…
À force de donner de son amour sans compter, on risque
fort de dépenser et de partager plus que ce qu’on avait
envisagé. Mais Jésus avait prévenu, nous l’avons
entendu les dimanches 31 juillet et 7 août :
«Gardez-vous bien de toute avidité, car la vie de
quelqu’un, fût-il dans l’abondance, ne dépend pas de ce
qu’il possède » (Lc 12, 15). Et : « Sois sans crainte, petit
troupeau : votre Père a trouvé bon de vous donner le
Royaume. Vendez ce que vous possédez et donnez- le en
aumône. Faites-vous des bourses qui ne s’usent pas, un
trésor inépuisable dans les cieux, là où le voleur
n’approche pas, où la mite ne détruit pas. Car là où est
votre trésor, là aussi sera votre cœur » (Lc 12, 32-34).
Dieu a fait de nous les intendants de sa providence. Au
jour de ma mort, j’aurai les mains vides de mes biens
mais pleines de l’amour que j’aurai donné en imitation
de Jésus.
Note d’une Paroissienne:
J'espère que tout le monde a eu une bonne fin de semaine. Une
messe spéciale avait été célébrée dimanche dernier en
mémoire des victimes de l’attentat du 11 Septembre 2001.
Nous prions Dieu de garder en sécurité les âmes de ces
défunts. Nous continuons de prier les familles en deuil.
Mardi dernier, au Conseil Pastoral, Deacon John Sadowski, le
Manager de la paroisse a été présenté aux membres. Ce
recrutement est important pour aider à la réalisation de
nouveaux projets pour notre paroisse. Notre slogan cette
année: "Nouvelle année, même église, une communauté unie
dans le Christ" sera lancée lors du “Family Fun Fall Festival”.
Merci M. Ernest Zalamea pour cette inspiration. Comme l’a
bien mentionné Deacon Sadowski, nous devons utiliser nos
propres ressources à savoir les jeunes, adultes, membres du
clergé, le personnel, etc…
Cette année ma présence va être constante dans les salles
d'enseignement religieux. Cela me tient à coeur puisque c’est
la base du fondement de la foi de nos enfants. Cependant, à
côté de leur formation scolaire, vous, parents, devez être
l’exemple de bons catholiques pour vos enfants. Nous allons
mettre sur pieds plein d’activités qui permettront aux jeunes de
pratiquer leur foi à partir d’expérience du monde réel. Ce sont
les jeunes qui nous aideront à nous unifier comme un seul
corps dans le Christ, quelle que soit la langue, la couleur de
peau.
Soyez informés sur les activités de la paroisse cette année. À
la fin du mois de novembre, l'Église catholique clôture l'année
de la miséricorde. Cela a été un plus pour l'Église qui y a
ramené de nombreuses âmes perdues à travers le monde entier
(tout comme la parabole nous avons entendue dimanche
dernier). Nous devons continuer à défendre le sacrement de
réconciliation, l’horaire est dans les colonnes du bulletin; si
cela ne vous convient pas, prière d’appeler presbytère pour
avoir un rendez-vous avec l'un des prêtres.
J'espère que vous jouissez de la météo et tous élèves de la
paroisse prennent très sérieusement leur éducation. J'ai hâte de
vous revoir.

VIGÉSIMO QUINTO DOMINGO DE TIEMPO ORDINARIO
PRIMERA LECTURA: AMÓS 8:4-7
El profeta Amós expresa su disgusto con la gente que toma
ventaja de los pobres. El describe a negociantes planeando
estafar a los pobres. Luego declara que Dios “nunca olvidará lo
que han hecho”.
SEGUNDA LECTURA: 1 TIMOTEO 2:1-8
Pablo insta a los Cristianos a orar por toda la gente,
especialmente por las autoridades. Pablo aún pide orar por los
reyes que acusaron a Cristo por sus enseñanzas. Dios quiere
que todos sean salvados a través de Jesús.
EVANGELIO: SAN LUCAS 16:1-13
Jesús cuenta la historia de un sirviente que intenta robar a su
patrón. El patrón se impresiona porque él hubiera hecho lo
mismo. Jesús describe la importancia de ser honrado en cosas
pequeñas, así como en grandes. Dice que nadie puede servir a
dos amos fielmente. Una persona no puede darse
completamente a ambos Dios y el dinero.
“Amados, ante todo, les recomiendo
que se hagan peticiones, oraciones,
súplicas y acciones de gracias por
todos los hombres, por los soberanos
y por todas las autoridades, para que
podamos disfrutar de paz y de tranquilidad, y llevar una
vida piadosa y digna. Esto es bueno y agradable a Dios,
nuestro Salvador, porque él quiere que todos se salven y
lleguen al conocimiento de la verdad. Hay un solo Dios y
un solo mediador entre Dios y los hombres: Jesucristo,
hombre él también, que se entregó a sí mismo para
rescatar a todos.”
San Pablo escribió una nota de aliento a Timoteo y tenemos
la oportunidad tanto de leerla como de aplicarla para nuestro
bienestar espiritual. Se nos enseñan los elementos de la
oración: adoración, remordimiento, agradecimiento y súplica,
como lo hemos indicado anteriormente: ARAS. Al examinar
mi vida de oración, deseo incluir todos estos elementos en mi
plegaria.
También se le recuerda a Timoteo la voluntad de Dios y su
deseo para todos nosotros: la salvación y el conocimiento de
la verdad. Estos no son ganados sino ofrecidos como dones,
los cuales puedo pedir y recibir. La razón de esto es el
recordatorio de que Jesús es el mediador, el salvador.
Durante pláticas laborales, los contratos se negocian con
mediadores o árbitros, y de esta forma Jesús nos representa,
ha hecho todo lo requerido y sólo nos pide que ‘firmemos’.
En las palabras de San Pablo, nos lleva a vidas más
piadosas y dignas
Rincón del Párroco:
Espero que todo el mundo tenía un fin
de semana bendecido y seguro. Nos ofrecieron una hermosa misa de
Réquiem por los que murieron hace 15 años el pasado domingo.
Seguimos orando por sus almas y sus familias que todavía están
luchando con la pérdida. Es importante mantener 9/11aniversario
cada año no sólo sobre los que terminan en 5 o 0. Dios oramos que
ellos están a salvo en sus manos y con tu madre en el paraíso.
Este pasado martes, el Consejo Parroquial se reunieron para su
reunión de septiembre. Fueron introducidos a nuestro nuevo
administrador parroquial, el Diácono John Sadowski. Él será un gran
recurso para la parroquia como seguimos para construir y apoyar a
nuestra parroquia. Quiero citar a uno de los expositores en la reunión
del Consejo parroquial, "Nuevo año, nuevo usted!" Me gustaría
cambiar ligeramente, "Año Nuevo, la misma Iglesia, una comunidad
unida en Cristo". Gracias, Sr. Ernest Zalamea por esta inspiración. La
diversión en familia el Festival de Otoño, como es mi esperanza,
traerá la parroquia aún más juntos. Diácono Sadowski decirlo mejor
que estamos aquí para usar los activos que tenemos, de nuestros
jóvenes, adultos, clero, personal, etc. como ponemos nuestro tiempo,
talento y tesoro.
Este año plan para verme más, especialmente en las clases de
educación religiosa. Tengo muy queridos de mi corazón ya que esta
es la base para sus niños a aprender sobre nuestra fe. Junto con su
formación en el aula serán ustedes los padres que actuarán como
sus modelos a imitar como buenos católicos. En la medida que
ampliamos nuestros programas aquí tendremos un gran componente
juvenil que ponga en práctica lo que aprenden en experiencias
reales. Es la juventud que ayude a unificar a nosotros como un solo
cuerpo de Cristo, no importa en qué idioma, color de piel, o
antecedentes socioeconómicos que venimos.
Por favor lea el seguimiento a los diversos eventos que celebraremos
en la parroquia este año. A finales de noviembre, nosotros, como
Iglesia católica, será el cierre del año de la misericordia. Esta ha sido
una gran actualización a la Iglesia trayendo muchas almas perdidas
en todo el mundo. (Al igual que la parábola que hemos escuchado el
domingo pasado.) Yo pido que hagamos como parroquia, seguir
defendiendo el sacramento de la reconciliación. Si no está seguro de
la época, vea el boletín. Aquí estamos todos los sábados y si su
necesidad puede ser superior espiritualmente, llame a la rectoría para
realizar y cita con uno de los sacerdotes.
Espero que estén disfrutando del clima y todos los estudiantes de la
parroquia, están floreciendo en la escuela. Espero verle esta semana
en torno a la parroquia.
