FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK
In the Gospel we see the apostles receiving a
mission from Jesus: To make the world a little
more as Jesus wants it to be. Forgetting their
personal needs and comforts, they take time to
reach out to people who are spiritually in need.
The world must become a place where people
will be able to do Jesus’ work among their fellow men and women. Being sent is a commission that occurs because of God’s initiative, not
ours. Today we are called and sent by God to be
missionaries, proclaimers and witnesses to others of His Words. The Lord entrusts us with His
gifts and talents. He wills to work in and through
each of us for His glory. So, let us ask ourselves:
In a world filled with so much hatred and division, anger and destruction, are we not in
desperate need of true disciples of Jesus Christ and not just admirers? Are we ready to
use the spiritual authority and power, which God wishes us to exercise on His behalf?
Do we sacrifice our comforts and spend time to make this world a little more as Jesus
wants it to be? As disciples of Christ, are we faithful to our mission?
