• If you have an alarm system, use it. Post
warning signs or window decals on your
property.
Beat Three

• Trim bushes and trees so burglars can not hide
and so branches do not block lighting.

• If you suspect an intruder is in your home, do
not enter. Call 9-1-1 immediately!
Vehicle Theft
If you arrive at your home or business and feel that it has been
burglarized, DO NOT ENTER, but go to another location and call
the police.
There is no foolproof method for protecting
your vehicle, however there are many no-cost
inexpensive steps that can be taken.
Lock it up
Let the police search the property to make sure that no suspect is
still present.
Protect your keys
Park in a safe area
Upon entering your home or business, do not touch things
unnecessarily as you may disturb or destroy fingerprint and other
evidence.
Inform the police of anything that have been moved from its
original position so that it can be checked for prints.
Notify the police if you find anything that is not yours that may
have been left behind by the burglar such as tools, clothing, etc.
Use Auto Theft deterrents such as car alarms,
kill switches, steering wheel and column
devices.
Remove all interior valuables/packages from
plain view (preferably prior to reaching your
destination). Lock these items in the trunk.
These items often encourage a theft.
(Driver's licenses and other identification have been left behind by
burglars before!)
Be prepared to provide the police with serial numbers and a
complete description of all missing property.
Tell the police if you have engraved any of the items with your
driver's license or other personalized number.

• Cierre con llave siempre sus puertas y
ventanas..
• Invierta en cerraduras de alta seguridad,
puertas solidas y ventanas laminadas..
• Instale ilumicación exterior con detección de
movimiento.
• Si tiene un sistema de alarmas, úselo. Coloque
señales de advertencia o calcomanías en las
ventanas de su propiedad.
• Recorte los arbustos y árboles para que los
ladrones no puedan ocultarse y para que las
ramas no obstruyan la iluminación.
• Si sospecha que hay un intruso en su hogar,
no entre. ¡Liame al 9-1-1 inmediatamente!

Robo de Vehículo
Aunque no existe un método infalible para
proteger su vehículo hay muchos pasos que se
pueden tomar sin costo o a un bajo costo.
Si usted llega a su casa o negocio y siente que ha sido despojado,
no ENTRE, pero vaya a otro lugar y llame a la policía.
Ciérrelo
Deje a la policía que haga la bísqueda a la propiedad para
asegurarse que ningún sospechoso está todavía en su casa.
Estaciónese en zonas seguras
Use medidas para prevenir el robo de autos
como alarmas, interruptores de encendido, o
artefactos que no dejan mover la columna o el
volante del vehiculo.
Para entrar en su casa o negocio, no toque cosas innecesariamente
cuando usted puede entorpecer o destruir las huellas digitales y
otras pruebas.
Informe a la policía de algo lo que haya sido movido de su
posición original de modo que se puedan verificar.
Notifique a la policía si usted encuentra algo que no es suyo que
pueda haber sido dejado por el ladrón como instrumentos, ropa, etc.
(los Permisos de conducir y otra identificación han sido dejados
por un ladrón de antes!)
Está listo para proveer a la policía números de serie y una
descripción completa de toda propiedad perdida.
Proteja sus llaves
Oculte todos los articulos de valor/paquetes de
vista (preferiblemente antes de llegar a su
destino final). Ponga bajo llave estos articulos
en la cajuela del vehiculo. Estos articulos
normalmente son una tentacion para los
ladrones.
Diga a la policía si usted ha engravado cualquiera de los artículos
con su Licencia de conducir u otro número personalizado.
