 April 1, 2016 Dear Parents, We wanted to take this opportunity to update you on our progress with the cleanup and repair of Cunha’s C­Building. Since our communication with you on March 11, we have had all of the classrooms in the C­Building thoroughly cleaned and the air quality monitored. We have also begun repair of the leaky windows and awnings in the building. Our objective was to try and mitigate the leaks in the building to a point where we could allow students back in the classrooms. Unfortunately, when we measured the air quality in the building after the last rain, the results indicated that the leaks in the building are more extensive than we had originally anticipated and that it would not be feasible to allow students to return to the C­Building for the foreseeable future. Next week, we are having a firm that specializes in finding and tracing building water leaks come in and do a full analysis of the C­Building. Based upon their results, we will take the corrective action necessary to ensure the building is properly repaired. In the meantime, we have reached out to the community to explore all possible alternatives available to us to ensure that students receive the best possible educational experience. Additionally, if you have any questions and would like to meet with the air quality specialist, please contact the Cunha office and we will make every effort to coordinate. We will continue to be in communication with you on a regular basis throughout the mitigation and repair process. The safety of our students and staff is our top priority and will guide all of our decision making process with regards to this situation.
