El Centro Cultural Montehermoso presenta esta muestra nacida en Bolivia en enero
del 2005 como parte de una estrategia de lucha para desplazar un tema – la
prostitución-; que suele ocupar el sitio policial hacia la ocupación de un espacio de
cultura como es una galería de arte, para dejar de ser las interpeladas de siempre y
pasar a interpelar a la sociedad sobre los múltiples sentidos de la palabra “puta” en
todos los continentes y culturas.
Esta exposición nace además en el contexto de la ascensión de Evo Morales al
gobierno boliviano el 20 de enero del 2005, como un espacio para poner en cuestión
el propio concepto de “cambio social” hoy en juego en la región latinoamericana;
donde las más de las veces “el cambio social” no asume contenidos concretos y
menos de cara a las “que no cuentan”, entre ellas por supuesto las mujeres en
situación de prostitución.
Con motivo de la muestra del colectivo de creadoras y activistas bolivianas Mujeres
Creando, el centro acogerá el día 20 de noviembre una conferencia inaugural a
cargo del colectivo y la presentación del libro Ninguna mujer nace para puta de María
Galindo y Sonia Sánchez.

Azaroaren 16tik urtarrilaren 6ra
Montehermoso Kulturuneak 2005eko urtarrilean sortutako erakusketa aurkezten
du. Borroka-estrategia baten parte gisa jaiotzen da, prostituzioaren gaia baztertuta
dagoen lekutik mugitzeko asmoz, eta gaia azaleratu dadin, kulturaren espazioa
okupatuz; galeria, museoa edota kultur zentroa. Pobreziari eta emakumeak objektu
gisa tratatzeari buruz hausnartzen duen publiko bati zuzendutako erakusketa da,
eta rol-aldaketa bat sorrarazten du, non “protagonistak” gizarteari –gizarteak haiei
eskatzen dizkie azalpenak- azalpenak eskatzera pasatzen baitira. Horretarako,
“puta” (emagaldu) hitzak testuinguru geografiko eta kultural ezberdinetan dituen
hamaika esanahiri buruzko galderak egiten dira erakusketa honetan.
Erakusketa hau, gainera, honako testuinguru honetan sortzen da: Evo Moralesek

Eskualde
hegoamerikarrean gaur egun jokoan dagoen “aldaketa soziala”-ren kontzeptua bera
zalantzan jartzeko eremu gisa sortzen da erakusketa. Izan ere, Bolivian, gehienetan
“aldaketa sozialak” ez du eduki konkreturik bere gain hartzen, are gutxiago “axola
ez duten” emakumeei dagokienez; horien artean daude prostituitzen direnak,
jakina.
Mujeres Creando kolektiboaren erakusketa dela eta, azaroaren 20an taldearen
inaugurazio-hitzaldia eta “Ninguna mujer nace para puta (Ez da emakumerik
emagaldurako jaio denik)”, María Galindo eta Sonia Sánchezen liburuaren
aurkezpena burutuko da.

(No women is born to be a whore)

This showing was born in Bolivia in January 2005 as a part of a fighting strategy to
remove the prostitution issue from the exclusion place it is consigned to; in order to
favour a bigger picture, by occupying the space of culture: the gallery, the museum,
or the cultural centre. This exhibition is aimed at the general public, who reflects on
issues such as poverty or the women as objects, and provokes a role-changing in
which the (female) ‘protagonists’ start to address to the society –that also addresses
to them- in the multiple senses of the word ‘whore’ in different geographical and
cultural contexts.
Evo Morales’s accession to the Bolivian government on the 20th January 2005 is the
backdrop for this exhibition, which aims to question the very notion of “social
change”,
a recurrent issue in Latin America; more often than not, the “social
change” cannot be objectified and less so because of the so-called “silenced people”,
some of them being, of course, the street walkers.
On the occasion of this exhibition, there will be a parallel programme November the
20th including an opening conference with Mujeres Creando and Ninguna mujer nace
para puta by María Galindo and Sonia Sánchez book presentation.
