On behalf of the EUROSHNET organizing committee, I have the
honour of inviting you to the 5 th European conference on standardization, testing and certification in the field of occupational safety
and health (OSH). The conference will be held in Seville on 14-16
October 2015. It is aimed at manufacturers and users of products,
European and national authorities, OSH experts, and other
stakeholders having an interest in health and safety at work.

The focus of the 5 th conference organized by the EUROSHNET
network will be on the need to create conditions for improving the
quality of working life in a rapidly changing world: How can standardization, testing and certification contribute? Which pitfalls should
be avoided?
With your support and cooperation we shall find ways to complete
the jigsaw puzzle of the numerous – and sometimes contradictory –
requirements that we must face in the next 10 years.
As the Director of INSHT, it will be my great pleasure to welcome
you to the beautiful city of Seville to try and meet that challenge.

Objectives
• Stimulating interaction between stakeholders concerned with
OSH issues in Europe
• Providing an update on EU standardization and certification
policy
• Discussing how standardization, testing and certification can
contribute to improving the quality of working life
The interactive programme design will enable participants to
provide input and get involved in the discussions throughout the
conference.
Invited lecturers will report on developments in European OSH
policy and product safety, and discuss the opportunities and limits
of standardization, testing and certification for safety, health and
well-being at work.
A full afternoon will be devoted to workshops addressing a range
of topical subjects connected with the focus of the conference.

Seville is the capital city of Andalusia. Located in the South of
Spain, it is one of the largest Spanish cities and occupies the
valley of the Guadalquivir River.
Seville’s rich history has left the city stuffed with innumerable
monuments like the awesome cathedral, the third largest in the
world, the Giralda tower, the wonderful palace of the Royal
Alcázar, the magical Barrio of Santa Cruz with its narrow streets,
or the Maestranza bullfighting ring. The city of Seville is famous
worldwide for its culture, monuments, traditions, artistic heritage
and passion for Flamenco but what it’s essentially famous for is its
own living self.
The average maximum temperature in October in Seville is 25˚C.
