Financial Support Plus 1 Program What is the Customer Assistance Financial Support Plus 1 Program? The Financial Support Plus 1 Program is designed to assist those City of Austin utility customers who are having financial difficulties and are unable to pay their utility bill due to unexpected emergencies. The City of Austin has partnered with local churches and non-profits to help identify Financial Support Plus 1 funding assistance recipients. In order for customers to receive this assistance, customers cannot have had any meter tampering charges billed to them within the most recent 12-month period. Further, customers must meet the agency's criteria, be a City of Austin utility customer and understand that deposits cannot be paid with these funds. Who qualifies for Financial Support Plus 1 assistance? Emergency financial assistance is provided once a year to customers facing temporary hardship such as a medical emergency or job loss. How does the money get distributed? You should apply to one of the community organizations listed below in order to qualify for financial assistance.
