Starter Cut up the cards on p.1 and give a set to each pair or small group of students to match. Alternatively, you could ask them to simply match the numbers and letters of the same phrases shown on slide 2 of the PowerPoint. Answers can be projected from slide 3. Ask students to reflect on the meanings of debería and deberíamos and identify the infinitive and the tense. Slide 4 Show the different levels of answer to the question ¿Cómo podemos salvar nuestro planeta? Gold, silver and bronze might be linked to specific grades at this point. Slides 5-7 Slide 5 provides ideas for answering the question ¿Cómo podemos salvar nuestro planeta? with the addition of the English meanings on slide 6 for students needing more support. Print out copies so that students can practise asking and answering the question with a partner, using the ideas provided for support. The question can be projected from slide 7. Slide 8 Give each pair of students a dice and ask them to take turns to roll 1-6 and talk about the environment using as many of the words given for that number as possible. Students could keep a note of points, with one point for each of the four words used, in order to find a winner in the time allowed. Slide 9 Return to the pyramid diagram (also shown on slide 4) to reflect on the lesson and ask students how well they were able to answer the question. © www.teachitlanguages.co.uk 2016 25552 Page 2 of 2
