Online Giving
You can now make a gift to Saint Luke Parish on our website, stlukewoodburn.org. We pay some
small fees when you make an online gift. The best method to pay, that charges us the least, is to
enter your checking information for a bank account transfer. These can be one time or recurring. This
can be helpful if you sometimes forget your donation or for when you might be sick or on vacation.
The website also offers payment through debit and credit cards, but these charge more of a fee to the
parish. The best way is to pay using your checking account.
You can alternatively set up an automatic payment on your own with your bank that donates regularly
to Saint Luke and neither you nor we will be charged a fee. This is often called bill pay. Set up St.
Luke at a biller, enter our name, address and your envelope number for the Account, then try to make
a recurring monthly payment. Your bank will send St. Luke a check and you don’t even have to pay
for the stamp to send it. If you have questions about this latter option, contact Fr. Baier or Christine
Vistica at the parish office for a more detailed explanation.

Bilingual Secretary
Position Available
We are looking for a person to fill her role as parish secretary. The job requires a bilingual facility
in English and Spanish, both written and verbal. The parish secretary greets people as they enter
the office and helps to solve their needs or directs them to the appropriate staff person. Proficiency
with a computer, especially with Microsoft Office and Publisher, as well as basic office equipment
are needed. The parish secretary, among other duties, maintains records for sacraments, creates the
bulletin, functions as secretary to the pastor and other staff, receives religious education
applications and overall is the first person people interact with when they call or visit the
office. This job requires good organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines. The jobs
demands attention to detail and a need for prudent confidentiality. The job is full-time with health
benefits. The job will start September 21st. Please visit St. Luke parish office to pick up an
application and submit a resume.

If you are looking to take a pre-baptismal class in English you may call the parish office
during our office hours and schedule an appointment with Father Scott.

Calling All High School Students
from St. Luke's Catholic Church.
We are having a trip to the beach Saturday, August 27th for a kickoff to the school year and special
invitation to the NEW High School Youth Group.
Join Fr. Scott Baier, Anthony J. Sperduti our new youth minister, and the adult chaperones, who will all
be there to help make the day at the beach a fun and enriching time. We will play games, share in the
beauty of God's wonders in nature, and pray together as a parish
community.
If you are interested contact the church and/or Anthony Sperduti 702.354.5960, so we can get you the
paperwork for your parents to turn in promptly. Space is limited and there is a cost of $10 for gas and be
sure to bring money to eat or pack a lunch for the day.
We hope that by praying together, eating together, and sharing in God's beautiful scenery, He provides
for us at the beach, you and your high school classmates will come together in respect and love for one
another, as we as a community build a better and stronger
relationship with our Lord.

RUMMAGE SALE
Queen of Peace Parish is once again having their HUGE Rummage sale to support their
youth and childcare ministries. We have been collecting treasures for over a month and our
gym and youth center are full of treasures. Come check it out. Everything from furniture to
glassware, books to sports equipment...you name it, we probably got it! Sale hours are
9am-4pm on Friday, August 12, Saturday, 9:30-7pm, and Sunday, 9:30am-2pm. Come and
support our youth and nursery ministries!
The Marriage & Life Office is Sponsoring the 5th
Annual Catholic Women Rejoice Conference at St.
Anthony in Tigard. The event begins with an
evening of Adoration and music on the evening of
August 19th and continues all day on August 20th.
