Durante esta excursión subiremos al volcán extinto: RANO KAU, donde se puede apreciar una
vista a toda la isla con sus costas, volcanes y el pueblo de HANGA ROA. El segundo mirador
que visitaremos nos permite apreciar el cráter de RANO KAU, con sus lagunas internas, y,
posteriormente, llegaremos a la aldea ceremonial ORONGO, donde se realizaba la ceremonia y
competencia del Hombre Pájaro - TANGATA MANU.
Luego visitaremos el AHU VINAPU con su arquitectura que nos recuerda a las construcciones
de los pueblos pre-incaicos. Finalmente, visitaremos la caleta Hanga Piko, allí podremos
observar a los pescadores locales y además visitaremos la plataforma restaurada, AHU RIATA.

First we visit Hanga Piko, a small harbour with local fishermen, to see the Ahu Riata the latest
restored platform. Then we drive up the extinct volcano Rano Kau, appreciate on the way a
view over the whole island and see its distinct geological features, and we proceed to an
outlook at the crater lake. Afterwards we drive to the ceremonial village of Orongo, where
the birdman competition took place and you can see the spectacular petroglyphs
related to this culture, see the 3 islets Motu Nui,Motu Iti and Motu Kao Kao
opposite the coast. Drive down again to Ahu Vinapu (not restored) which could be proof of the
influence of pre-inca arquitects on Easter Island culture.

Dieser Ausflug führt zum erloschenen Vulkan Rano Kau mit seinem imposanten Kratersee.
Hier haben Sie einen atemberaubenden Ausblick über die gesamte Insel sowie auf den See.
Anschliessend fahren wir zum Zeremoniendorf Orongo. Hier fanden die Rituale um
den Vogelmannkult und dem damit verbundenen Wettbewerb statt. Sie werden hier die
Petroglyphen und Orongo-Haeuser besuchen und den Ausblick auf die vorgelagerten
Inseln Motu Nui, Motu Iti und Motu Kao Kao genießen können.
Nächstes Ziel ist der nicht restaurierte Ahu Vinapu, der mit solcher Präzision erbaut
wurde, dass er an die Prä-Inka-Bauten erinnert. Danach besichtigen wir den Hafen Hanga
Piko, dort sehen wir eine restaurierte Plattform, aber vor allem koennen wir das Treiben der
lokalen Fischer und Bewohner beobachten.
