IB students may claim that taking the IB
diploma course is like getting lost in a forest
with a glimpse of hope in the far distance. Your
feet are falling off because of the aimless walking, your mouth is dry from the lack of water,
your body is stinging from bugs and poison ivy
and you don’t seem to be getting any closer to
the glimpse of hope... I have two tips for you
that will help you have success in the IB program.
During the 2 years of IB, there will be
many weeks where you will see deadlines accumulating and getting closer than they were a
few days ago; coffee will come into play; and
there will be weeks where you just wish it was
the weekend. Time management is the key to
success. Here’s my biggest tip: DO NOT
PROCRASTINATE! Before you realize it, huge
amounts of projects, essays or any other internal assessment will be due. If you keep your
head up with commitment and perseverance
and do not procrastinate, the glimpse of hope
will soon be reality.

At the same time make sure to remember this: do NOT forget to stay balanced
with school and outside-of-school life. School
helps you academically to have a better future, but socializing outside of the school is
primordial for success. It helps you adapt
yourself more easily to any situation. The
studying is often stressful and tiring, with
pressure to perform under strict deadlines,
tension, and pressure; having a social life will
help you decompress. In the same way, being
balanced lets you build an identity and status
inside of your group. You share experiences
with others, both relatives and friends, creating memories that make you more self-confident and stronger for the future.
Just remember to not procrastinate,
show commitment, perseverance and stay
balanced with social life, with this you’ll see
that IB isn’t that difficult and you will succeed.
Do not forget to believe in yourself!
I would like to study audiovisuals in either
Montreal, Barcelona or somewhere in
France, however I am still not exactly sure
what universities and what exactly in audiovisuals I want to study.

Desde 2012
Los alumnos del IB pueden afirmar que
tomar el camino del diploma del IB es como
perderse en un bosque con la mirada puesta en
la lejanía. Sus pies se pueden sentir que caen
debido a la distancia del camino, tu boca puede
estar seca por la falta de agua, tu cuerpo picado
de insectos e hiedra venenosa y no parece estar
cerca de siquiera vislumbrar la esperanza ... Yo
tengo dos consejos para usted que le ayudarán
a tener éxito en el programa IB.
Durante los 2 años de IB, habrá muchas
semanas donde verá plazos acumulados y cada
vez más cerca de lo que eran hace unos días; el
café entrará en juego; habrán semanas en el
que sólo desea que sea el fin de semana. El
manejo del tiempo es la clave del éxito. Aquí
está mi mayor consejo: ¡NO SE DETENGA!
Antes de que se de cuenta, la fecha límite de
una enorme cantidad de proyectos, ensayos o
cualquier otra evaluación interna se juntarán. Si
usted se mantiene comprometido y persevera y
no posponer las cosas, podrá hacer realidad esa
esperanza.

Al mismo tiempo, asegúrese de recordar
esto: no se olvide de mantener el equilibrio con
la escuela y la vida fuera de la escuela. La escuela le ayuda académicamente al permitirle
tener un futuro mejor, pero la socialización fuera
de la escuela es primordial para el éxito. Le
ayuda a adaptarse más fácilmente ante
cualquier situación. El estudiar es a menudo estresante y agotador, por la presión de actuar
bajo plazos estrictos, la tensión y la presión;
tener una vida social le ayudará a descomprimir.
De la misma manera, ser equilibrado le permite
construir una identidad y definir su posición en
su grupo. Usted comparte experiencias con
otros, tanto familiares y amigos, la creación de
recuerdos que le harán más seguro de sí mismo
y más fuerte para el futuro.
Sólo recuerde no posponer las cosas,
mostrar compromiso, perseverancia y mantener
el equilibrio con la vida social, con esto usted
verá que IB no es tan difícil y usted tendrá éxito.
Quisiera estudiar audiovisuales ya sea en
Montreal, Barcelona o en algún lugar de
Francia, sin embargo no estoy segura que
universidades y que exactamente en audiovisuales quiero estudiar.
