1.− What is Internet
Internet is an universal net, where you can do a lot of things that I will be explain in the next point. Internet is
not a phisic place or thing, Internet is a net composted with a lot of servers that achieve that the users can
access to the web pages only connecting to phone line.
2.− Things that you can do thought Internet
2.1.− Chat Rooms (mIRC, ole chat, etc....)
In Internet there is a lot of differents chat rooms, you can access to these rooms with a program called mIRC
in these program you only have to connected to a server enter ina a chat room an start to talk with the people
connected in these moment in the same chat room as you.. But you can talk in a chat room without mIRC, in
alot of web pages there is a section called chat and in these section you can talk with other peolpe, but in these
kinds of chats you only can talk in one chat room becouse you do not are connected to a server you only
executed a option of the web a n normally these webs pages only has one chat room, one of most popular web
page chat is olechat in these chat you can talk in differents chat rooms.
2.2,. Navigator
To surt the net we have two navigator princi parly: Microsoft explorer and Netscape Navigator.
Microsoft Internet explorer is the most pupolar navigator with its you can visit a lot of webs and these
program have a special plugin to visit webs with differents java code and with Flash, etc.... And the basic

functions are: add a web's direction to a favourite folder, consult the pages that you had visited the sessions
before.
Netscape Navigator: moreless is the same as the explorer the difference is that netscape is a free software, and
it wants to compit with micrsoft explorer .
2.3.− MP3 : Internet audio format
The most popular audio format in internet is MP3, these format is like the CD format but in a computer, you
can pass the wav format that is the CD's format with only using an encoder to a MP3 format these format
achive a very good quality of sound in a computer. Nowadays these format is only for a peolpe that want to
listen a song and if they really like buy the CD, but a lot of peolpe do a illegal thing that is to achieve MP3
songs and save it in computer these are forviden you can only have it 24 hours after these time you have to
delete the song of tour computer. The player that a lot of people used to listen MP3 songs is Winamp, that you
can achieve in internet, is a free software. (http://www.winamp.com/)
2.4.− ICQ
ICQ is a very usefull program all the users of these program have a number an the people can send to them all
the things: sounds, files, data, images, etc... It is like a chat room but if you are not connected in the moment
that a person send you something you can read the text or recupere this thing later when you connected to

2.5.−Electronic mail
I only said about E−mail that is more usefull and efficiency that post mail.
2.6.−Real player
Real player is a usefull tool of Internet is a free softaware and whit it oyu can see TV online or listen radio
online you only have to achieve a radio or TV link a you can see or listen it in your computer like if you see or
listen a conventional radio or TV station or channel,. Realplayer normally is a plugin of Inyternet explorer and
explorer use it when there are some videos os sounds to execute. (http://www.realplayer.com/)
3.− Webs' pages
3.1.− Visited more pages
There are a different kinds of web pages but peolpe normally visit the MP3 pages where you can achieve a lot
of illegal MP3 songs and you can listen it and you do not have to buy the CD you only have to dowload these
songs and listen it with a MP3 player like Winamp. Other pages that people visted are the personal pages
these are the pages that the people do it to explain something to offer a service or only to explain things about
themselves.
3.2.− Searchers
There is a lot of searchers in Internet where you only write a word an it looks for the pages that contains these
word, the most popular spanish searcher is Olé and there are spanish web pages, the most usefull and
important searcher for me is Altavista these searcher look for web pages in the language that you want and
have a option that permit you to translate the web page into your language, Alatavista is the searcher that have
more pages in their files, allows millions and millions of web pages of the all subjets.

4.− Conclusion
I chose these suibject becouse I think that Internet stay in their beginnigs and It has a important future in
communications. NowadaysI considered that is the most usefull tool, to search information and to
communicate with people around the world.
