HOW THE LEOPARD GOT ITS SPOTS
This is a story about animals that live together in a yellow, sandy, rocky place.
In this place, all the animals are yellow.
The leopard is yellow, and he hunts with a man who has yellow skin.
They are friends. All the others animals are nervous when they go for a walk. It is very difficult for the
other animals to see the leopard and the man when they are not moving. One moment the giraffe and
the zebra are live, and the next moment they are breakfast!
One day, the animals decide to leave the yellow, sandy, rocky place and go to the forest away from the
man and the leopard.
The forest is full of shadows. There are long shadows and there are round shadows.
Slowly, the zebra begins to get stripes. He grows black and white stripes all over his body, and now he
can hide in the long shadows. The giraffe also changes so she can hide in the round shadows. The other
animals see this and change their appearances, too.
Soon, the leopard and the man are hungry.
They can't find any animals to eat. They go into to the forest to look for their breakfast. They look
everywhere but they can't see any animals.
When it gets dark, the leopard says to the man, I can smell giraffe and I can hear giraffe, but I can't see
her. Just then, the leopard bumps into something and knocks it over. It is the giraffe. The leopard
quickly sits on her head and waits until
