Latin America, for projects in marriage and family
life, youth ministry, seminarian formation and catechesis in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Introduction IV for RCIA for Inquirers will meet this
Tuesday, August 18, at 7:15 PM in the parish hall. This
extra introductory session is for those who wish to join
the Catholic Church or to return to the basics of their
faith journey with new insight and return to the sacraments. Regular material “information” classes will resume the following week.
The bible study group Searching Souls meets every Wednesday at 10:00 AM in the so-
cial hall. We use the practice of Lectio Divina (read, meditate, pray, contemplate) for the Mass
readings of that particular day as the basis for our study. Please join us and bring your bible.

Dear Parishioners and Friends:
Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me and I in him. … the one who feeds on me
will have life because of me.
[John 6: 56 & 57b.]
Jesus feeds on the Father’s love. He is wrapped
up in the presence of the Father who sent him. When we
feed on Jesus, we have that same life from his Father.
Thus we “remain in him” and abide in him and God is
that never-ending life within us. We manifest this as
Jesus did by giving ourselves away.
To put it another way: Jesus’ invitation to eat
and drink his flesh and blood is an invitation to enter
into his own mystery of thanksgiving and self-giving
dying and rising. Eucharist is both the gift of abundant
supper and the self-giving sacrifice. We are changed by
what we eat into his body and blood through our relationship of indwelling, divine life. Encounter your savior again today then give yourself away!
Question for the week: What (who) feeds you?
What gives you energy and life? Then what is your passion to give to others? That is what gives joy to good
stewards.

Jesús se alimenta del amor del Padre. Él está envuelto en la presencia del Padre que lo mandó. Cuando
nosotros nos alimentamos con Jesús, tenemos esa misma
vida de su Padre. Así que “permanecemos en el” y nos
mantenemos en él y Dios es esa vida que nunca termina en
nosotros. Manifestamos esto como Jesús lo hizo dándonos
nosotros mismos.
Para ponerlo de otra manera: La invitación de Jesús de comer y beber su carne y su sangre es una invitación
para entrar dentro de su propio misterio de agradecimiento
y darse a sí mismo muriendo y resucitando. La Eucaristía
es ambos el regalo de una cena abundante y el sacrificio
propio. Nosotros somos cambiados por que comemos de su
cuerpo y su sangre a través de nuestra relación de inhabitación en la vida divina. Encuéntrese con su salvador
de nuevo hoy y entonces entréguese usted mismo!

The Bi-Lingual Liturgy at 11 AM Mass this weekend will be followed by a Luncheon to welcome
our newcomers. The RCIA Rite of Welcome, at
the 11 AM Mass, celebrates the entrance of Bob
Scheuing and Malissa Ryffel into our parish family
through RCIA. We welcome them to our faith community. We also welcome all those who have
moved into the parish during this past year. Please
bring something to share for the luncheon. Doors to
the parish hall will be open before Mass so that we
can drop off our Luncheon contributions. Welcome
packets will be given to all newcomers!
La Liturgia Bilingüe en la Misa de las 11 AM este fin
de semana será seguido por un almuerzo para darle la
bienvenida a los recién llegados. El Rito de Bienvenida del RCIA, en la Misa de las 11 am, celebra la entrada de Bob Scheuing y Malissa Ryffel en nuestra familia parroquial a través del RCIA. Les damos la bienvenida a nuestra comunidad de fe. También damos la

Parish Pastoral Council elections will be held this weekend
(August15-16) and next (Aug 2223) at all the Masses. Every
parishioner over 16 years old
is invited to vote for three
candidates of their choice. You
may vote ONLY ONCE and you MUST SIGN the
Ballot for your vote to count. [Unsigned
ballots will be thrown out]. Please

An Adult CPR course (and AED Training)
will be offered this Wednesday night, August
19, from 6:30- 9:30 PM in the Parish Hall.
Ken Jorishie is an accredited American Red
Cross instructor and can give official certification for the course. As our parish becomes
older, please consider how you might aid
others in their moment of need! Class size is
limited to the first12 applicants. Call Ken at

Weekly Rosary in our Homes! This
week Wednesday night, August 19, at
7:30 PM is open to pray the Joseph
Novena at anyone’s home who would
enjoy the opportunity. Everyone is welcome! The blessing of homes and rosary are open to those who claim the
open dates first [English or Spanish].

The BAA: Almost half of our congregation has participated in the Bishop’s Annual Appeal. We thank you who
have been so thoughtful and generous, standing up and
being counted as supporting our Bishop and the ministries
of the Diocese of Savannah. If you have not done so already, please make out your check to the BAA and mail it

Please tell them that you are a member of St. Joseph,
Waycross! As of August 7, our parish has met $17,061 of
our $24,935 target (or 68%) with 43% of us participating.
Fr. Bob will be contacting those who have not given to
remind them personally.

Youth Group will meet at 2:30 this Sunday afternoon. We will have a brief lesson and then
have game time.

PRE! Pre-registration for the 2015/2016 Religious Education program will be after all masses on August 29/30th and September
5/6th. Classes will begin on Sunday, September 13th at 9:00 a.m. If
your child is receiving a Sacrament, either First Communion* (2nd
grade or older) or Confirmation** (9th grade or above), we MUST
have a copy of their baptismal certificate on file. If your child was
baptized at St. Joseph, we should have that information on file. But
if your child was baptized somewhere other than St. Joseph, you
must provide it at the time of registration. Registration WILL NOT
be completed until we have a copy of their baptismal certificate!
*Participation in 1st grade PRE classes is required to receive the
Sacrament of First Holy Communion in 2nd grade.
**Participation in a 2 year Confirmation program is required to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation.

El Momento de Misericordia esta semana! Vestir al Desnudo
1. Done un artículo de ropa al Ministerio de Panes y Peces.
2. Llame o visite a alguien que necesita ánimo, consuelo, o
sentirse conectado.
3. Comparta su fe con otros en una forma visible: de o preste un libro Católico o un DVD, comparta un artículo Católico en
su medio social, o invite a alguien a la Misa, etc.
4. Aprenda más sobre el mensaje de la Divina Misericordia y
comparta lo que usted aprendió con al menos otra persona.
5. Instruya al ignorante, aconseje al que tiene duda y conforte al que sufre.
1. Donate an item of clothing to the Loaves and Fishes Ministry.
2. Call or visit with someone who needs encouragement, consolation, or connection.
3. Share your faith with others in some tangible way: give or
loan a Catholic book or DVD, share a Catholic article on social
media, invite someone to Mass, etc.
4. Learn more about the message of Divine Mercy and share
what you've learned with at least one other person.
5. Instruct the ignorant, counsel the doubtful, and comfort the
afflicted.

Reunión del Ministerio Hispano: El domingo pasado nos
reunimos y vimos cómo cada miembro de nuestro grupo
tiene dones especiales y una jornada única que lo ha llevado
a esta parroquia. Al servir descubrimos la voz del Señor que
nos manda proclamar sus bondades en diferentes maneras
de cuidar a nuestra comunidad. El P. Victor Canela nos ayudará a encontrar nuestros dones en un retiro parroquial el
Viernes y sábado 28 y 29 de Agosto. El P. Bob está pidiendo
a cada uno de nosotros que compre un boleto de $10 y que
venga para que nuestra comunidad parroquial se vuelva lo
que Dios desea. El P. Victor tiene las habilidades para ayudarnos. Contestemos al pedido de nuestro pastor. Compre
