From the Pastor
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
It has been a strange month with many activities
and changes. Even though as I write this letter we
still don’t know who our new associate will be perhaps by the time you see this bulletin we will have
received word from the Bishop and will have been
informed of the news. I surely hope so. We are
managing to keep our daily Masses as well as Sunday Masses but I don’t know how long we will be
able to do it if we don’t receive some help soon.
During this month our school got off to a good
start, Father Juan Pablo left to go to Texas, we had
a visit from Father Jeff Fasching who stayed with
us for a week to help us with the Latin Masses, and
our Bishop sent in his letter of retirement. We’ll
see how September goes!!
This week the clergy of the Diocese have “Clergy
Days” with Father Joseph Corolla S. J. His special
expertise lies in Patristic Theology, that is in the
Theology of the Fathers of the church. The Fathers
of the Church were those great minds from the beginning of Christianity until the 8th or 9th century
who wrote about the church’s beliefs and explained
theologically what they meant. Many converts entered the Church because of the writings of the Fathers of the Church. I am looking forward to attending these Clergy Days which will be held in
Tulsa. It is also a time to come together as priests
and deacons and strengthen our fraternity. However, we will have Masses as usual during Clergy
Days which are scheduled beginning on Monday,
August 31st to Wednesday, September 2nd.
This coming Friday is the First Friday of September so we will have a Latin Mass at 5:30 p.m. and a
Spanish Mass at 7:00 p.m. Following the Spanish
Mass we will have all night adoration. I hope that
many of you will be able to participate for at least
some part of the adoration. On Saturday, September 5th we will have morning Mass in English at
8:30 a.m. and then the Padre Pio Prayer Group.
August 30, 2015
new chapter of Juventutem recently approved by
the Central Office will have a leaders’ meeting at
10:30 a.m. in the Board Room of the Office. At
noon on Saturday we will have our usual Latin
Mass.
Beginning on Saturday, September 5th, Father
Leon Bonikowski from the Oblates of St. Francis
de Sales will be here in our parish to speak at all of
the Masses on the Salesian Missions and invite us
to assist as we are able in this missionary society’s
work. These Salesian Missionaries are serving in
Africa, Namibia, Benin, Brazil, Uruguay, Mexico,
India, Ecuador, Colombia, Haiti, Ukraine, Philippines, U. S. virgin Islands. Please welcome Father
Bonikowski when you see him next weekend.
Have a good week.
Sincerely yours,
Father Timothy Davison

The Catholic University of America
The Catholic University of America is the national
university of the Catholic Church in the United
States, located in Washington, D. C. It provides an
academically rigorous education guided by Catholic intellectual tradition to nearly 7,000 students
every year. More than 4,000 students directly receive scholarship aid from this collection, including many from our diocese. Next week is the National Collection for The Catholic University of
America. Please be generous.
The Legacy of the DeSales Oblate Missions:
Missionaries generating Missionaries
St. Francis de Sales (1567-1622), doctor of
the church, Patron of the Catholic Press, Patron of
the Deaf, and Founder of the Sisters of the Visitation, served as a young priest-missionary to the
Chablais region of his native France. Today, the
Oblates of St. Francis de Sales continue his work
in the footsteps of Our Lord Jesus Christ “to the
ends of the earth.” Established in France in 1876,
the DeSales Oblates arrived in North America in
1893 in order to work among the Native Americans of Oklahoma. Today, many North American
De Sales Oblates work throughout the world.
Please welcome Fr. Bonakowski to our parish.
TRADITION
Tradition is long human memory set, not in
stone, but in human interaction. Without this active memory, the bonds of relationship and affection fray and fall apart. Communities dissolve as
surely as neglected building do. After participating
in events, celebrations, and even small rituals, we
remark about how good it is to gather and remember.
Today’s readings remind us of foundations
laid deeper than the human will to relate. Today
we hear about God’s will to relate to us-to be our
God as we are called to be God’s own beloved
people.
Today in three readings and three ways we
remember the covenant bonds that create us as a
people and the obligation and responsibility that
express the innermost attitude of soul. You are
mine. I am yours. These are God’s words that created a people.

muchos cambios.
estrellas.
