Some upcoming events at Chestatee High School are listed below. For more detailed information, please

Extracurricular home events this week include:
o Soccer: Friday, Senior Night, Varsity girls at 5:55 pm, boys at 8:00 pm vs
Monroe Area. Senior players will be recognized between games.
o Baseball: Monday, V at 4:30 pm vs North Hall
Wednesday, V at 5:55 pm vs Madison County
o Softball: Student vs Faculty on Thursday, 4/23 at 6 pm
Freshman vs Seniors, at 6 pm
Sophomores vs Juniors at 6:30 pm
Winners at 7 pm
Winners vs Faculty at 7:30 pm

Due to graduation being on 5/21, we will follow an exam “half day” schedule on this day. We
will also have our regularly scheduled exam “half-days” on 5/22, 5/26, and 5/27.

Progress Reports AND 15-16 Course Request Summary Sheets are going home today with your
student. Please review them carefully, and both of these documents must be signed and returned
by April 20th to the 4th period teacher.

Attention Former CHS Students: if you received a Certificate of Attendance, you are now
eligible for your diploma. The state has done away with the Graduation Test requirements.
Contact Coach Dunn for more information.

Lanier Tech Dual Enrollment meeting – Tuesday, April 14 from 6:00pm-7:00pm at the Lanier
Tech Campus in Oakwood, Building 300. Any student interested in Lanier Tech’s dual
enrollment program for next year should attend.

Seniors – we want to recognize anyone who receives a scholarship for college. Please let the
counselor’s office know so we can honor this achievement.

Yearbook Day is Friday, May 15th. Seniors will enjoy a cook-out. Senior parents, start thinking
now about how you want to contribute.
The yearbook staff was able to order 50 more yearbooks from the plant. You still have time to
reserve one from Mrs. White in room 65. They are $75 and all payments need to be paid off by
Thursday, May 14th.

The War Eagle Band received BBQ tickets the Friday before Spring Break. Please make sure
your child is selling the tickets! The BBQ is scheduled for Friday, May 1st 4:00-7:00 pm.

Drum Major and Drumline practices start this week on Monday/Tuesday 4:00-5:30 pm.

Do you have a passion for something? Would you like to view some AMAZING authentic
student projects? Please join us for the R.A.C.E. Freshmen Spring Passion Project Showcase on
Monday, April 20th, 2015 from 5:30 pm-7:30 pm in the R.A.C.E. room.

The Chestatee Spring Blood Drive, sponsored by American Red Cross is scheduled for
Wednesday, April 22 from 8:30 am to 1:30 pm in the upper gym. Please see any HOSA member,
Mrs. Edwards or Mrs. Wilson to sign up. Donors must be 16 or older and all must have a
parental consent from completed. Parents are also welcome to donate! Thank you for donating!
HOSA students please check with Mrs. Edwards for the volunteer scheduling for the blood drive.

There is a Booster Club meeting for the 2015-16 Cheer Squads on Thursday, at 6 pm in the CHS
Media Center.

There will be a softball interest meeting on Tuesday, April 21st from 8:00 – 8:15 am in room 132
with Coach Rich.

The Softball Tryouts will be as follows: for Varsity and JV, on May 4-8 from 4:00-6:00 pm. For
middle school on May 11-14.

Debido a que la graduación es el 21 de Mayo, ese día tendremos “medio día” de clases que será
para exámenes. También tendremos “medios días” de exámenes para el 5/22, 5/26 y 5/27.

Los Reportes de Progreso Y las hojas de Solicitud de Clases para el curso 2015-16 (15-16 Course
Request Summary Sheets) se enviarán hoy a casa con su estudiante. Favor de revisarlas
cuidadosamente, y ambos documentos deben firmarlos y regresarlos a más tardar el lunes 20 de
Abril al maestro/a del 4º período.

Atención a los estudiantes que ya salieron de Chestatee: si su estudiante solo recibió el
Certificado de Asistencia, ahora ya puede recibir su diploma. El estado ha anulado el requisito de
los Exámenes de Graduación. Favor de comunicarse con Coach Dunn para mayor información.

Reunión en Lanier Tech para el programa Dual Enrollment – la reunión se llevará a cabo el
martes 14 de Abril de 6:00pm-7:00pm en Lanier Tech Campus Oakwood, Edificio 300. Los
estudiantes interesados en este programa de Lanier Tech para el siguiente ciclo escolar deben
asistir.

Seniors – queremos darles reconocimiento a los estudiantes seniors que hayan obtenido alguna
beca para la universidad. Favor de avisarlo en la oficina de Consejería para hacer dicho
reconocimiento.

El día del Anuario será el viernes 15 de Mayo. Los estudiantes seniors tendrán su cook-out. A
los padres de los senior, les pedimos que vayan pensando en lo que podrían contribuir para este
cook-out.
Con respecto al anuario pudimos ordenar 50 más así que si ustedes todavía no han comprado el
suyo, favor de hacerlo con la Sra. White en el salón 65. Cuestan $75 y debe quedar totalmente
pagado para el jueves 14 de Mayo.

Los integrantes de la Banda de Chestatee recibieron los boletos para su evento anual de comida
BBQ. Favor de asegurarse que su hijo/a esté vendiendo los boletos! La comida BBQ será para el
viernes 1º de Mayo de 4:00-7:00 pm.

Las prácticas de los que tocan los tambores en la banda (drum major and drumline) darán
comienzo esta semana y serán los lunes y martes de 4:00-5:30 pm.

Ustedes tienen pasión por algo? Quisieran ver algunos proyectos INCREIBLES hechos por los
mismos estudiantes? Los invitamos a que vengan a la Exposición de Proyectos Estudiantiles de
R.A.C.E. (R.A.C.E. Freshmen Spring Passion Project Showcase) el lunes 20 de Abril de 5:30 pm7:30 pm en el salón de R.A.C.E.

El evento de Chestatee HS de Donación de Sangre de la Cruz Roja se llevará a cabo el miércoles
22 de Abril de 8:30 am a 1:30 pm en la parte superior del gimnasio. Favor de hablar con algún
miembro de HOSA, con la Sra. Edwards o la Sra. Wilson para apuntarse. Los donadores deben
tener 16 años o más y tener la hoja de permiso firmada por sus padres. También los padres
pueden donar! Muchas gracias por sus donaciones!!! A los estudiantes de HOSA favor de hablar
con la Sra. Edwards para apuntarse como voluntarios para este evento.

Habrá reunión del Booster Club para las Cheer Squads del ciclo 2015-16 este jueves a las 6 pm en
la biblioteca de la escuela.

A las que estén interesadas en jugar softball habrá una reunión de información el martes 21 de
Abril de 8:00 – 8:15 am en el salón 132 con Coach Rich.

Los tryouts para Softball se llevarán a cabo del 4-8 de Mayo de 4:00-6:00 pm para Varsity y JV, y
del 11-14 de Mayo para middle school.
