Aguanieve, -sensación de.
La ciencia intenta producir efectos de verdad. El arte, de incertidumbre. En el proceso artístico de P
ablo Capitán del Río (Granada, 1982) se van configurando algunos de los paradigmas relacionales en
tre los territorios de lo científico y lo poético a partir de la construcción de elementos que en su ens
amblaje y correspondencias van trazando posibles narrativas sobre distintos fenómenos físicos y ps
icológicos.
Entre lo frondoso y lo transparente, lo velado y lo manifiesto, lo entrelazado y lo inextricable, el
trabajo de Pablo Capitán plantea con sus obras un amplio espectro de posibilidades, futuribles y e
stados por venir, en los que el tiempo aparece como importante denominador común en la c
onstrucción de las piezas presentes en la exposición.
Tiempo y espacio, geometría y movimiento se van configurando como elementos con los que ir c
onstruyendo imágenes que superan el estadio de lo real para insinuarse como potenciales m
etáforas, narrativas cortocircuitadas y dispositivos relacionales amplificados que nos incitan a d
escubrir las complejidades del mundo y las posibilidades de otras maneras de percibirlo y actuar
sobre él.
Imágenes dobles, isomorfías gemelares, edificaciones herméticas y materiales en un continuo est
ado de cambio, nos invitan a pasear por esta “vanitas” perpetua, reflejo de la complejidad del indi
viduo que como decía Prigogine “está constituido de una pluralidad de tiempos, conectados los unos
con los otros según articulaciones sutiles y múltiples”.
Tiempo doble y simultáneo. Tiempo al que se delega la construcción narrativa de la obra a partir de
su participación interna en la transformación de los materiales y tiempo como simultaneidad, como pa
sado presente en cada una de las infinitas veces en que las obras concluyen a lo largo de este
proceso en infinitos puntos intermedios. Sin fin, sin comienzo. El tiempo-ahora, irreversiblemente y
para siempre.
En este continuo estado de cambio es donde la obra de Pablo Capitán nos invita a reflexionar s
obre las posibilidades de lo futurible, de aquello que está por venir, los próximos minutos, los pr
óximos días, un mañana que ya no será ese futuro que esperabas tener ayer. Paralaje temporal, afas
ia mental ante la escena, una explosión en un vaso de agua.
Licenciado en Bellas Artes por la Universidad de Granada, Pablo Capitán del Río ha expuesto su ob
ra en espacios como la sala de exposiciones de la Diputación de Granada Condes de Gabia o el e
spacio independiente Combo en Córdoba .y ha participado en ferias de arte contemporáneo como Ju
st MADRID donde le fue concedido el Premio “Just MAG Premio joven” en su pasada edición. En la ac
tualidad desarrolla una residencia de trabajo en BILBAOARTE y prepara diversos proyectos de
investigación artística.
Sleet, -feeling of.
Science tries to create a sense of truth, art of uncertainty. The artistic process of Pablo Capitán del R
ío (Granada, 1982) gradually takes shape of some of the relational paradigms situated between the s
cientific and the poetic territory, drawing possible narratives regarding different physical and
psychological phenomenon due to the construction of elements in their assembly.
Between the dense and the transparent, the hidden and the manifest, the intertwined and the
inextricable, Pablo Capitan’s work approaches with his pieces a broad spectrum of possibilities and re
alities to become in the future. Time appears here as an important common ground in the
elaboration of all the exhibited pieces.
Time and space, geometry and movement, shape the elements that serve to the creation of images
that go beyond the stadium of reality, with potential metaphors, short-circuited narratives and
amplified relational devices that provoke in us a desire to discover the complexities of the world and
the possibilities of perceiving and acting in a different way.
Double images, twin isomorphism, hermetic constructions, and materials in a continuum state of
change, invite us to stroll around this permanent “vanitas”, a reflect of the human complexity that in the
words of Prigogine “it is constituted of a plurality of times, connected with each other by subtle and mu
ltiple joints”.
Double time and simultaneous. This is a Time where the narrative construction of the artwork is
delegated to because of its intern participation in the transformation of the materials. Time as
simultaneity, as past-present, in every one of the infinite times the artworks conclude through this
process of infinite half-way points. Endless, without a beginning. The now-time, irrevocably and
forever.
In this constant state of change is where the work of Pablo Capitán invites us to reflect on the p
ossibilities of the future, about what is to come, in the next minutes, the following days, a day that
will no longer be the future that you expected yesterday. Temporal parallax, mental aphasia in front
of the scene, an explosion inside a glass of water.
Pablo Capitán studied Fine Arts in the University of Granada, his work has been exhibited in the C
ouncil Condes de Gabia of the city of Granada, at the independent space Combo in Cordoba, he
has also presented his work in international contemporary art fairs, such as Just MADRID where he
was awarded with the Just MAG Young Award in the fair’s last edition. Currently he is working in th
e artist residence of BILBAOARTE and preparing different artistic projects.
