If one of the children chosen, I understand that my child will receive the use of a band instrument and lessons on how to play that instrument. I understand that the instrument provided is the property of the “Start Up the Band” program I understand that lessons will be held every Saturday morning during the school year at the Calhoun Middle School Band Room and that my child is expected to be at every practice I understand that my child is expected to take care of the instrument so that it is in playing condition at each lesson •

1. Make sure the student is on time and ready to begin class at 10:00 am each Saturday.
2. Pick up student promptly at 11:00 each Saturday.
3. Help student manage their instrument and their band materials. If an instrument is damaged, the
parent accepts responsibility for those repairs.
4. If an instrument is lost or stolen, it will be the parent’s responsibility to replace that instrument.
5. Encourage student to practice every day (approximately 15 minutes) between Saturday classes.
6. Parents are invited and encouraged to sit in on classes to see what their children are learning and
to better help them during the week.
7. Make sure that your children are doing well in their other school work so that they can attend
these lessons for the entire year.
Responsabilidades de los padres
