The objective of this project is to analyse the collective identities, Navarrist and Basquist,
in the Valley of Baztan. These two identities stand out above others in the Autonomous
Community of Navarre and they have often been the subject of study, but they are also
characteristic of Baztan. This research project is aimed at examining the presence of the

Navarrist or Basquist identities in this valley through an electoral analysis taking political
parties which sympathise with those collective identities as reference. In addition, the
typical identity elements which affect the construction of both collective identities are
identified by means of press review. Conclusions point out that these two collective
identities are present in the Valley of Baztan, but their situation has varied over time.

El objetivo de este trabajo es analizar las identidades colectivas, navarrista y vasquista, en
el Valle de Baztan. Dos identidades que destacan por encima de otras en la Comunidad
Foral de Navarra, y que han sido muchas veces objeto de estudio, pero que también son
características de Baztan. Esta investigación pretende analizar la presencia del Navarrismo
y el Vasquismo en este valle, mediante un análisis electoral, tomando como referencia
partidos afines a estas identidades colectivas. Además, mediante un análisis de prensa se
identificaran los elementos identitarios característicos que influyen en la construcción de
ambas identidades colectivas. Las conclusiones señalan que ambas identidades colectivas
están muy presentes en el Valle, pero que su situación ha variado con el paso del tiempo.
