This includes different types of bullying, such as financial, verbal, and unfair performance reviews, which affect around 72% of workers, often started by bosses. 2 These patterns of abusive behaviors impair workers and it affects the quality of the work they produce. It may also severely impact their future careers if the harassment does not stop. Two-thirds of bosses ignore bullying, with only 3% of victims filing actual lawsuits. Instead of just punishing people, the bill focuses on preventing bullying. It specifically targets bullying cases that are not related to discrimination against protected groups like sex, religion, and race, as the law already protects victims from those cases. By focusing on prevention and tackling discriminatory behaviors, the bill aims to create respectful and inclusive work environments where all employees can succeed without fear of harassment or mistreatment. This approach is intended to foster healthier and more supportive workplaces. 2- WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THE SUBJECT MATTER OF THE AUDIO? (150 words) ✔ Use relevant phrases and expressions to give opinions. ✔ The text must be formal in style. Write your opinion here I think that workplace bullying is a very real issue that affects all of us that are part of the workforce. Even if you are not directly affected by it, the mood and the quality of an office can deteriorate very quickly making it very difficult to work under those conditions. It's like a shadow that hangs over everything and everybody, making people feel bad and afraid instead of motivated to do their jobs. The impact goes beyond just those being targeted: it undermines teamwork, creativity, and the overall work environment. The worst part is that often, nothing gets done about it because people don't know how to address it or are afraid of making the situation worse. But employers need to step up and implement clear policies to stop this unacceptable behavior. That means making it clear that bullying will not be tolerated, providing a safe way for people to report incidents, and ensuring everyone understands how to treat each other with respect. As it is the case in the audio clip, where legislation is being passed to ensure workplace bullying happens no more. 3
