I know you from my English class.
You know me from your English class.
He knows her from his English class.
She knows him from her English class.
We know them from our English class.
They know us from their English class.
POSSESSIVE ADJECTIVES
Possessive adjectives are always followed by a NOUN.
Examples: my father, our house, her beautiful friend…
BE CAREFUL!
its (possessive) ≠ it’s (it + is)
It’s a school.
Its name is Queen’s School.
POSSESSIVE PRONOUNS
Possessive pronouns are never followed by a NOUN.
Compare these examples:
This is my car.  This car is mine.
This is your book. This book is yours.
When we want to ask who is the owner of an object we use:
‘whose’ + SINGULAR/PLURAL NOUN
Examples:
Whose book is this?
It’s my book. / This book is mine.
Whose photocopies are these?
These are our photocopies. / These photocopies are ours.
‘a friend of mine’
(‘un amigo mío/uno de mis amigos’)
Examples:
My sister went out with a friend of hers last weekend.
Sandra and I know Mike. He’s a friend of ours.
