I usually wear jeans and T-shirts, or tracksuits because I’m very active. It costs a lot of money to buy the newest fashions and I prefer to buy other things, like games and tickets for going to concerts. I put on a suit last year when my cousin got married. Everyone said I looked good, but I didn’t feel very comfortable! Luke Most days, I wear jeans with a polo shirt or a hoodie. I don’t buy expensive clothes, but I like to have the latest trainers, so that’s what I spend my money on. Every Saturday, I help at my parents’ restaurant and I have to wear a white shirt with black trousers. I don’t mind because it’s only for a day. I want to become a lawyer, and if that happens, I’ll have to wear a suit every day! Max I found a great app online to help me choose the right clothes. I uploaded a photo of myself to the app. Then, I put pictures of clothes I saw online on that photo, and I could see what the clothes looked like on me. At first, I had fun with the app, and I put on the silliest clothes, like suits, caps and long coats. Later, I used it when I was looking for sunglasses. It was really helpful and I still use it! Jannik Sinner Jannik Sinner is a young tennis player. He was born on 16 August, 2001. He has a German name because he grew up in the South Tyrol – it’s a part of Italy where people speak German. He now lives in Monaco. He’s been very successful since he started playing in important tennis competitions when he was 16. But before tennis, he was a junior skiing champion. In his part of Italy, there are mountains and snow, so skiing is the first sport people do. Tennis was actually his third sport, after football. So why did he choose to be a tennis player? He enjoyed playing football, but he always wanted to make the decisions, and sometimes that isn’t possible when you play a team sport. With skiing, if you make one mistake, you fall and you’re out of the race. In tennis, if you make one mistake, you can still play and win. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he started the Sinner Pizza Challenge. People had to make a pizza with the face of Sinner or another Italian athlete on it and post a photo of it online. For each photo, he gave €10 to help his area during the pandemic. People loved the funny idea and he raised a lot of money. 5 of 20 This page has been downloaded from www.macmillaneducationeverywhere.com Photocopiable © Macmillan Education Limited 2021 Practice test 1 A2 14 Where did Jannik live when he was very young A Germany B Italy C Monaco 15 Why did Jannik start skiing?
