PROCEDURE: STATIC CHECKS for IGBT/IPM, 3-PHASE BRIDGE RECTIFIER, CONTROL
POWER and GROUND
PRODUCT: AXIS MODULE 2094-AMxx, 2094-BMxx and INTEGRATED AXIS MODULE 2094ACxx-Mxx, 2094-BCxx-Mxx
EQUIPMENT: FLUKE MODEL 87 MULTIMETER OR EQUIVALENT
Axis Module Checks
Set meter to Voltage function.
Verify bus voltage is fully discharged (less than 1V) at backplane DC+ and DC– connections.
Set meter to Diode Check function.
1. With black lead on backplane DC+ and red lead on DC– read ≈ 0.83V (see Table 1).
2. With black lead on backplane DC+ and red lead on motor power U, V, W read ≈ 0.45V.
3. With red lead on backplane DC– and black lead on motor power U, V, W read ≈ 0.45V.
Set meter to Ohm function.
1. Verify backplane DC+ and DC– to ground read open.
2. Verify backplane Aux+ to Aux– is not shorted.
3. Verify continuity from backplane ground to motor power ground and also to metal collar
(chassis).
4. Verify motor power U, V, W to ground read open.
5. Verify motor power U to V, U to W, and V to W are not shorted.

Integrated Axis Module Converter Section Checks
Set meter to Voltage function.
Verify bus voltage is fully discharged (less than 1V) at backplane DC+ and DC– connections.
Set meter to Diode Check function.
1. With black lead on backplane DC+ and red lead on DC– read ≈ 0.91V (see Table 1).
2. With black lead on backplane DC+ and red lead on 3-phase input L1, L2, L3 read ≈ 0.52V.
3. With red lead on backplane DC– and black lead on 3-phase input L1, L2, L3 read ≈ 0.50V.
Set meter to Ohm function.
1. Verify backplane DC+ and DC– to ground are not shorted.
2. Verify backplane Aux+ to Aux– is not shorted.
3. Verify continuity from backplane ground to 3-phase input connector ground and also to metal
collar (chassis).
4. Verify continuity from backplane DC+ to 3-phase input connector DC+.
5. Verify continuity from backplane DC– to 3-phase input connector DC–.
6. Verify control power CTRL1 to CTRL2 is not shorted.
7. Verify control power CTRL1 and CTRL2 to ground are not shorted.
8. Verify 3-phase inputs L1, L2, L3 to ground are not shorted.
9. Verify 3-phase inputs L1 to L2, L1 to L3, and L2 to L3 are not shorted.
Integrated Axis Module Inverter Section Checks
Set meter to Voltage function.
Verify bus voltage is fully discharged (less than 1V) at backplane DC+ and DC– connections.
Set meter to Diode Check function.
1. With black lead on backplane DC+ and red lead on DC– read ≈ 0.83V (see Table 1).
2. With black lead on backplane DC+ and red lead on motor power U, V, W read ≈ 0.45V.
3. With red lead on backplane DC– and black lead on motor power U, V, W read ≈ 0.45V.
Set meter to Ohm function.
1. Verify backplane DC+ and DC– to ground read open.
2. Verify backplane Aux+ to Aux– is not shorted.
3. Verify continuity from backplane ground to motor power ground and also to metal collar
(chassis).
4. Verify motor power U, V, W to ground read open.
5. Verify motor power U to V, U to W, and V to W are not shorted.

* Measurements below this range may indicate a leaky or shorted condition of a IGBT/IPM,
3-phase diode bridge or other component. The specific meter used may alter measurements.
If this occurs compare the measurements of a known good drive of the same model.
