John Wick History John Wick is a retired hitman who is forced back into action when a group of Russian gangsters steal his car and kill his puppy, a final gift from his recently deceased wife. He sets out to get revenge, and in the process uncovers a hidden world of assassins and criminals. In John Wick, John Wick tells the Russian gangsters that he will kill them if they don't return his car and puppy. The Russian gangsters laugh at him and tell him that he is no match for them. John Wick kills the Russian gangsters, one by one. He is then declared "excommunicado" by the High Table, a global assassin's guild. In John Wick: Chapter 2, John Wick is on the run from the High Table. He travels to Rome to seek help from an old friend, Santino D'Antonio, who owes him a favor. But Santino has his own plans for Wick, and soon John is caught up in a deadly game of cat and mouse. Santino tells John that he could spare his life if he killed Santino's sister, Gianna D'Antonio. John refuses to kill Gianna, and Santino has him marked for death. John Wick escapes from Rome and goes on the run from the High Table. In John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, John Wick is declared "excommunicado" by the High Table. He is now a target for all assassins, and must find a way to survive long enough to clear his name. He travels to Casablanca, where he meets the Elder, the mysterious leader of the High Table. Wick must convince the Elder to spare his life, and in the process, he learns the truth about his past. The Elder tells John Wick that he could spare his life if he completed a task for him. John Wick completes the task for the Elder, and is spared his life. John Wick returns to New York City and faces off against the High Table. He defeats the High Table, and is declared the new "King of New York."
