11. ABSTRACT (200 words or less)
The Standard Review Plan (SRP) provides guidance to US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff in performing safety
reviews of construction permit (CP) or operating license (OL) applications (including requests for amendments) under 10 CFR
Part 50 and early site permit (ESP), design certification (DC), combined license (COL), standard design approval (SDA), or
manufacturing license (ML) applications under 10 CFR Part 52 (including requests for amendments).
The principal purpose of the SRP is to assure the quality and uniformity of staff safety reviews. Itis also the intent of this plan to
make information about regulatory matters widely available and to improve communication between the NRC, interested
members of the public, and the nuclear power industry, thereby increasing understanding of the NRC's review process.
The March 2007 SRP represents a comprehensive revision. Specific revision numbers are denoted on individual sections.
Subsequent revisions may be made to individual sections.
