Well, when I want to cook the first thing I do is always wear a chef's apron to protect my clothes, because you can make a mess when cooking, and tomatoes and spices change the colour of your clothes forever. The most important piece of equipment is the knives. I am very picky about my knives. They have to be very sharp so that food can be cut easily, and I take great care of them. Of course, you need all kinds of things in the kitchen, such as pots and pans, casseroles, chopping boards and mixers, but I don't have a lot of utensils. What I like about cooking is the fact that it is creative and real. We have to eat, and what we eat is really important, so I like to know that what I'm eating, and what my family is eating, is good. In fact, I like all the preparation. Going shopping, seeing the food, feeling it, smelling it, talking to the people selling it, that's half the fun. People often ask me what I like to cook, and I don't really have an answer. Whatever looks good and whatever I feel like cooking that day. The best thing is, of course, to see people enjoying my food, but what is also very important to me is to see everyone happy and enjoying themselves at the table. It's as much about the occasion as it is about the food. Although I don't know how to cook many recipes I try my best to do it well and make it delicious.
