vibration and eliminates end shaft play
 Micrometer impeller setting feature. It’s easier to set the impeller clearance vs the jack
screw method used by competitor
 Inpro VB45-S as standard. This effectively seals bearing housing when shutdown, makes
oil and bearings last longer by eliminating contamination
 360° sight glass from Luneta doesn’t cloud and proof high strength
 Larger oil sump than competitor
 Fit all these features to a Goulds 3196 with a simple shaft change

time due to wear in the rings
 More appropriate for explosive fluids
 We can recover the lost efficiency by
adjusting the impeller clearance, without
disassemble the pump.
 Less susceptible to clogging and being so, it
is easy to clean
 Easy to inspect for damage or wear
 Greater range of specific speeds if required
* It is necessary to disassemble the pump to
inspect the rings and restore the clearance
* Internal parts are hidden so it is difficult to
inspect and cast
* Different clearances (or rings) are required
for high temperatures
* More susceptible to clogging
* More expensive because of the extra shroud
and rings
* High precision in the machining of the
impeller and casing
* Less rigidity of the blades as there is no front
shroud
