What people wear Description The Flower Fair is a traditional massive festive event that is held every year in the city of Medellin, Colombia. In the first days of August of each year Medellin is filled with flowers and parties to receive one of the most traditional celebrations in Colombia. The Flower Fair is the most important event in Medellin, as it embodies all the values of the Antioquia people. The men dress in a white shirt, black pants, quotes, a hat and the traditional paisa carriel. The women also wear a white blouse, they wear a long skirt, quotes and a scarf that covers their head. Activities such as trova festival, silleteros parade, concerts, and classic car parades among others are celebrated The flower fair is a special celebration because the peasants of Antioquia are the central axis of it with their participation as silleteros since through flowers they pay tribute to women, fertility and life.
