La modelación del software permite que el Layout del cerro, sea creada con datos específicos
tomados en terreno, de tal manera de crear un diseño manual. Para ello se debe obtener imagen
del sector en estudio, para así dimensionarla en el microsimulador en escala basada en la
realidad para su correcta aplicación. Luego se crea la calzada y composición estructural con
las respectivas intersecciones y aceras, a través de la herramienta Links (1), donde se debe
identificar el número y ancho de pistas, se identifican los conflictos que existen entre
intersecciones, a través de la herramienta Conflict Areas, donde se debe especificar quien tiene
prioridad en cada una de las intersecciones. Finalmente se identifica si existe en el sector señal
de prioridad a través de la herramienta Priority Rules. Cabe destacar que en el sector de
estudio solo se encuentra demarcada una señal de prioridad. Seguido de lo anterior, se
identifican las herramientas utilizadas en PTV VISSIM en la Figura 4.9.
