Type of Event: Intra-school Purpose of the Event: This event includes multiple workshops ranging from physical sciences to music to management. Faculty Member(s) Overseeing the Activity: Diverse 3 PROPOSAL FOR COIN/TREASURE HUNT This proposal requests for a final formal letter from the authority for a grand event comprising coin hunt by solving riddles and using their overall knowledge for problem solving. Description of the Request Proposed Date of Event: TBD -open to discussion, will be coherent with the school's academic session. Tentative Duration of Event: TBD Type of Event: Inter-school Competition Purpose of the Event: This program is 3.1 Details of the Hunt: Hunt will be divided into three major rounds where teams will compete to get a spot in Top 5. 3.1.1 Round 1: This is the first and the toughest among all 3 rounds where more than 50% of the participants get eliminated. This round is basically a basic problem solving round where team members sit at three different spots. Here, A1 player solves a question and the answer obtained Proposal Document Page | by the A1 player is used by A2 player to solve the question given to A2 player. Similarly, the answer obtained by A2 player is used by the A3 player and finally the A3 player submits it to the referee. Only those teams who correctly answers the question fastest makes into 2nd Round Spot 1 A1 player This player solves question 1 and gives the answer to A2 Spot 2 A2 player Using A1's answer, this playes Figure 3.1.1.1: Possible layout for participants flow in this given round 3.1.2 Round 2: In this second round, teams are supposed to do risk assessment and enter different houses namely as – Casino, Jackpot, Temple, and Shortcut. In these houses, teams will redeem their coupons and will play at anyone in the house for further coupons. Questions will be a mix-bag ranging from general knowledge to Lord of rings trilogy to quantum mechanics. In this house, a lottery wheel is rotated and teams may win coupons. Casino Shortcut is the house where a team can play without a limit. In Casino, each team is asked to fish a question from 100 random questions. At the same time, a shortcut house is a high risk high reward space where teams based on their strength may pick a difficulty section and work on problems to solve. Proposal Document Page | While temple as well has a limit of 4 redeems and each team can play on their strength in a particular genre they are comfortable in. 3.1.3 Round 3: This is the main event final round which includes coin hunt. In this round top five teams will be on the quest to hunt a coin by solving riddles and prompted questions. This will be by far the most exciting round. Here is the possible layout for one team in this round which might get permuted for other teams as well for the sake of transparency and fairness of the game. Here is the possible pathway of say team A1: Riddle 1 W Loop 1.1 C Loop 2.1 Riddle 2 Loop 1.2 C Loop 2.2 Riddle 3 Loop 3.1 C Loop 4.1 Loop 3.2 Riddle 4 C Loop 4.2 Riddle 5 Path to treasure Further, if a team couldn’t solve a riddle at any point in this loop then they might be exempted with 3 minutes of penalty and will move automatically to another point in the algorithm. If they couldn’t answer a question in the main path then with the same 3 minutes penalty the given team will undergo in their respective loop.
