ABC OF FIRST AID. Pag.110. Composition.
What to do
The ABC's of First Aid stands for airway, breathing, and
circulation; it´s for checking the vital signs of a victim, it is
the priority, so I will look for pulse, breath and signs of shock.
So let´s start step by step
Airways Open.


Be sure to see if the person is breathing. Can I hear the
breath? Is the victim's breath uneven?
Put the victim to help keep airways clear and accessible.
Breathing Restored.



An unconscious victim will breath better if he or she is in
the safety position.
A conscious victim will do better either sitting up or semireclining.
Calm victim to prevent emotional breathing problems such as
hyperventilation.
Circulation Maintained.



Checking for a pulse is as crucial as making sure the victim
can breathe.
Take the injured person's pulse. If you can't find a pulse,
begin CPR if you are trained and certified to do so.
If not, do mouth-to-mouth resuscitation and scream for help.
