RED THREAD® II Performance Plus™ PIPING
SIGNIFICANT FEATURES which make RED THREAD
II Performance Plus Piping Systems ideal:
•
Available in 8" - 24" diameters with bell x spigot end
configuration.
•
Pipe is constructed of fiberglass and amine cured epoxy
resin.
•
Its fiberglass and epoxy resin construction offers
internal and external corrosion resistance.
•
RED THREAD II Performance Plus piping has improved
flow characteristics compared to traditional materials.
•
It is lightweight and easy to install.
•
Pipe is rated at 450 psig static pressure at 200°F.
•
Pipe is manufactured in 39-foot random lengths.

All values are nominal. Tolerances or maximum/minimum limits can be obtained from Smith
Fibercast.
(1) Sharper bends should be eliminated to avoid stress concentration which could result in premature pipe failure under pressure conditions.
(2) Vacuum Service: A full vacuum within the pipe is equivalent to 14.7 psig (1.01 bars) external
pressure at sea level. Maximum external pressure ratings are based on test data obtained using ASTM D2924.

(2) The hydrostatic design stress cyclic at 150°F is 10,450 psi, per ASTM D2992, Procedure
A. Based on complete data sets obtained at 150°F and 200°F, the extrapolated value at
75°F is 13,040 psi.
All dimensions listed above are nominal in nature and should only be
used for system layout and take off. Actual fittings and fabrication work
should be measured before bonding to ensure dimensional accuracy.
