1st line: NOUN
2nd line: TWO ADJECTIVES ….AND
3rd line: A VERB – AN ADJECTIVE
4th line: start the line with LIKE/AS
+ COMPARISON
5th line: IF ONLY + WISH

Read out the poems
Example:

Cold and blue
Lying everywhere
Like a carpet
If only summer would take its turn
Pupils can play the role of the teacher,
too.

You need some photos, pictures
Show your pupils a photo (overhead,
beamer,..)
The teacher describes the picture
exactly.
You may also invent a little story going
with the picture
Mistakes happen to you.
The pupils correct the teacher

The text should tell a story and
contain a punchline
The text might also be an
autobiography
Read out the stories
Example:
Throughout their married life, he told
her she was useless. He earned much
more. He was the life and soul of every
party. She dreamed and was quiet. One
year, she wrote a novel. It won the
Booker prize. Now everyone wants to talk
to her, and she talks back.
