Boletín de Novedades Geocientíficas N° 6
Espacio que difunde información sobre los documentos recientes
ingresados en la base de datos de la Biblioteca del INGEMMET con especial
énfasis en publicaciones referidas a Perú y a la Región Andina. Se incluye
también otros recursos de información de interés para el desarrollo de la
investigación geocientífica.

DISSERTATIONS,
Buscador
especializado que aspira a ser el mejor
recurso para encontrar tesis doctorales y
trabajos académicos disponibles en
acceso abierto en todo el mundo. Reúne datos de 2.4 millones de documentos
procedentes de unas 1,100 instituciones académicas y de investigación de
numerosos países. Siempre que es posible delimitar recoge prioritariamente
trabajos de graduados (doctorado, máster). Facilita referencias bibliográficas
que remiten a la URL del documento en el correspondiente repositorio
académico.

Este portal tiene como objetivo proporcionar una herramienta de fácil acceso a
las tesis electrónicas publicadas en texto completo en diferentes universidades
latinoamericanas. Cada universidad es responsable de producir, archivar y
diseminar sus tesis.
Mediante la utilización del protocolo de Open Archives Initiative (OAI), es posible
la interoperabilidad entre los diferentes servidores y repositorios universitarios
y la normalización del formato de intercambio de los metadatos. Se ha utilizado
un sistema de indexación de los metadatos desarrollado por el Public Knowledge
Project. El PKP Harvester OAI permite crear un índice de búsqueda de los
metadatos y es actualmente compatible con las versiones 1.1 y 2.0 del Protocolo
de Open Archives Initiative OAI
