Me llamo _____________________. **DOUBLE NOUNS AND 'S** ~ In Spanish, the apostrophe ('s) does not exist. We cannot say "María's friend" or "Juan's high school." We must say "the friend of María" or "the high school of Juan." María's friend = la amiga de María Juan's high school = el colegio de Juan ~ Since there is no apostrophe in Spanish, we eliminate all English contractions such as we'll and can't. We only have two contractions in Spanish (AL and DEL). ~ We also cannot have two nouns right next to each other as we often do in English (Spanish class, English teacher, etc.). These nouns must also be separated by the word DE. Spanish class = the class of Spanish = la clase de español ~ ESCRIBE EN ESPAÑOL. 1) Elena's friends = LOS AMIGOS DE ELENA 2) Pepe's school = LA ESCUELA DE PEPE 3) Math book = EL LIBRO DE MATEMÁTICAS 4) Spanish class = LA CLASE DE ESPAÑOL 5) Chemistry teacher = LA PROFESORA DE QUÍMICA 6) Arturo's friends are nice. = LOS AMIGOS DE ARTURO SON SIMPÁTICOS. 7) Mariana's teacher (m) is intelligent. = EL PROFESOR DE MARIANA ES INTELIGENTE. 8) The English class is boring. = LA CLASE DE INGLÉS ES ABURRIDA. ©2015, www.sparkenthusiasm.com
