Ángela Castaño
Ángela es licenciada en Derecho por la Universidad de Valladolid y máster en Tourism
Administration por la Universidad George Washington, en Washington DC, becada por
la Comisión Fulbright.
En 1997 fue nombrada funcionaria interina del Cuerpo Facultativo Superior de
Letrados del Gobierno Regional de Cantabria. A finales del mismo año ejerció como
letrada de la Dirección General del Servicio Jurídico en la Consejería de Presidencia del Gobierno
de Cantabria. En 1999 fue designada funcionaria de carrera del Cuerpo Superior de Administradores
Civiles del Estado y, un año más tarde, técnico superior de la Unidad de Apoyo del Secretario
General de Turismo.
En Washington, ejerció como asistente en el Departamento de Planificación Turística de la
Universidad George Washington University (EE.UU.). Más tarde, fue nombrada jefa de Área de
Planificación en la Subdirección de Comercialización Exterior del Turismo y OET’s de Turespaña y,
después, de Turismo Cultural en la misma subdirección.
En los últimos años ha sido consejera de Turismo en Singapur, responsable de los mercados del
Sudeste Asiático, Australia y Nueva Zelanda.
Ángela és llicenciada en Dret per la Universitat de Valladolid i màster en Tourism Administration per
la Universitat George Washington, a Washington DC, becada per la Comissió Fulbright.
El 1997 va ser nomenada funcionària interina del Cos Facultatiu Superior de Lletrats del Govern
Regional de Cantàbria. A finals del mateix any va exercir com a lletrada de la Direcció General del
Servei Jurídic en la Conselleria de Presidència del Govern de Cantàbria. El 1999 va ser designada
funcionària de carrera del Cos Superior d'Administradors Civils de l'Estat i, un any més tard, tècnic
superior de la Unitat de Suport del Secretari General de Turisme.
A Washington, va exercir com a assistent en el Departament de Planificació Turística de la
Universitat George Washington (EUA). Més tard, va ser nomenada cap d'Àrea de Planificació en la
Subdirecció de Comercialització Exterior del Turisme i OET’s de Turespaña i, després, de Turisme
Cultural a la mateixa subdirecció.
En els últims anys ha estat consellera de Turisme a Singapur, responsable dels mercats del Sud-est
Asiàtic, Austràlia i Nova Zelanda.
Ángela is a Law Graduate by the University of Valladolid and Master in Tourism Administration by
University George Washington, in Washington DC granted by the Fulbright Commission.
In 1997 she was appointed Temporary Civil Servant of the Administration Body of Lawyers of the
Regional Government of Cantabria. At the end of the same year she worked as a lawyer at the
General Management of Legal Service at the Ministry of Presidency of the Cantabrian Government.
In 1999 she was appointed civil servant of the State Body of Civil Administrators and, a year later,
superior technician of the Support Unit of the General Secretariat of Tourism.
In Washington she worked as Assistant in the Department of Tourist Planning of George Washington
University (USA). Later, she was appointed Area Manager of Planning at the Subdirectorate of
Foreign Trade of Tourism and OETs of Turespaña and, after that, of Cultural Tourism at the same
Subdirectorate.
In the latest years she has been Councilor of Tourism in Singapore, in charge of the markets in
Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand.
