2. Lean la historia de la hoja de los niños y las
lecturas de la Biblia para hoy (vean arriba).

‹ La cruz de Jesús representa sanación y

Messages for this week:
‹ Jesus’ cross symbolizes healing and hope
for those who look for it. It is also an invitation to fight with Jesus
against all sin—to fight
against our personal
sins of selfishness and
the social sins of injustice and evil.
‹ Jesus is God but he
did not cling to his status.
Out of love he went to the
extreme of dying on the
cross. Jesus is the ultimate and supreme
example of service.
3. Reflect on the reality of the children in your care:
‹ What are the crosses or troubles the
children experience in their families or communities? What recent problems in their
neighborhood may have affected them? For
instance, how do the injustices of society
(inequality in education or housing, or
immigrantion problems) affect them?
‹ Have they experience sickness in their
families?
4. Pray for the children in your class.

1. Proclaim the Word of God. Invite the children
to ask for healing for some illness or evil they
know of.

4. Reflexión. Dejar un momento de reflexión
para que los niños miren a las preguntas de
“Jesús te invita”.
5. Diálogo sobre sus respuestas.
6. Dar tiempo para que escriban su
compromiso.
7. Actividades. Construir con cartulina un
hospital donde hay enfermos de distintas
clases: gente que hace guerras, personas
egoístas, gente que toma demasiado,
mentirosos. Hacer una lista de remedios para
todos estos males.
8. Oración final. Cada niño/niña puede
presentar una enfermedad o dificultad que
conoce y pedir curación. Todos responden:
“Gracias, Jesús, tu cruz salva al mundo”.

3. Talk about the story. Talk with the children
about illnesses. Have they ever felt sick? Who
or what made them feel better? Do they know
anybody who is sick? What kinds of sickness
or physical problems to people have? How are
these kinds of sicknesses different from one
another? How can Jesus bring healing to those
who are physically or spiritually sick?
4. Reflection. Leave a few minutes for the
children to reflect on the questions.
5. Discuss their responses.
6. Leave some time for them to write their
commitments for the week.
7. Activities. Draw a hospital on a piece of construction paper. Ask the children to draw and
then cut out people with all kinds of illnesses—
such as very selfish people, violent ones, or
people who don’t listen—and place them in the
hospital. Next create a list with the children of
the remedies for such sicknesses.
8. Final prayer. As each child expresses a need
or illness to be healed, all respond: “Thank
you, Jesus, your cross saves the world”.

5. What our faith teaches us:
The cross is a symbol of Jesus’ crucifixion.
With this sign, Christians announce that the
love of God has come to this earth. The cross
is the indication of a new world, where hatred
is fought with forgiveness, where everything
is shared, where poverty is combated, where
the human heart is freed from the power of
evil, and where death is destroyed. To make
the sign of the cross means that we are willing to love as Jesus loved.
