Se utiliza para la construcción de madera,
especialmente carpinterías, construcción
prefabricada de casas, construcción de
vehículos (p.e. cajas abiertas), construcción
de barcos, construcción de ferias,
construcción de andamios, para los
bastidores de transporte difícilmente
desmontables, cajas para máquinas,
cajas de transporte para el transporte
marítimo. Se pueden usar para unir
piezas de madera o para unir piezas
de madera y metal.
Se avellana el cuello cuadrado en la
madera, diámetro de perforación correspondiente al tamaño de rosca. Al unir
madera y madera se tiene que
suplementar una arandela más grande
debajo de la tuerca.
